1.1 Intendeduse•TheintendedpurposeoftheI-nebAADsystemisthatitisanultrasonic(vibratingmesh)nebulizersystemdesignedtoaerosolizeliquidmedicationapprovedforusewiththeI-nebAADSystem,forinhalationbythepatientinthehomecare,nursinghome,sub-acuteinstitution,orhospitalenvironment.

•TheI-nebhasbeendevelopedforadultsandchildrenaged2andupwardswhocanco-ordinatebreathingintoamouthpiece.TheI-nebshouldalwaysbeusedinconjunctionwithpatientdatasuppliedbythespecificdruglicence.

•I-nebshouldonlybeusedonconsciousandspontaneouslybreathingpatients.

•Ifyourequireanyfurtherinformationaboutyourtreatmentscontactyournurse/clinician/healthcareprovider.

4.andgetusedtoassemblingtheI-neb.

1 Beforeyoutakeyourfirsttreatment,chargethebatteryfor3-6hoursoruntilyouseethefullychargedsymbol(below).

2 Tochargetheinternalbattery,cliptheI-nebontothebatterychargerandconnecttheplugtoanelectricaloutlet.WhentheI-nebisfullychargedunplugitfromtheoutlet.Unclipthebatterychargerbypressingthegreybuttonsonthesideofthechargerunit.Alwayschargeyourbatterywhenitreachestwobarsonthebatteryindicator.Whenthereisonlyonebarappearingonthebatteryindicator,youcancontinuetouseI-nebwiththebatterychargerattached. Makesureitisfirmlyinplace.Thereshouldbenogaps.Toremovethemouthpieceaftertreatments,holdthetopofthemouthpieceandrollitforwardorrockitfromsidetosidetopullitoff.

12 Openthemedication.Useapipettetotransferalltheprescribedmedicationintothecenteroftheofthemedicationchamber.Slowlypipettethemedicationaroundthehorn.Someofthemedicationwilloverflowintootherpartsofthemedicationchamber.Thisisnormal.Itisimportanttocompletelyfillthecenterportionofthechamber.

NoteSeepatientinformationprovidedwithyourmedicationforinstructionsonopeningthemedication.

13 LeavetheI-nebonaflatsurface.

Carefullyremovethedrugguideandreplacethechamberlidandmouthpiece.Donotallowyourfingersorhandstocomeindirectcontactwiththemedication.MakesuretheI-nebremainsupright.Youarenowreadytostartyourtreatment.

17 Sealyourlipsaroundthemouthpiece.Breatheinandoutthroughyourmouth.Donotbreathethroughyournose.Holdyournoseforafewbreathstomakesureyouarebreathingthroughyourmouth.Releaseyournoseandbreathenormally. Tip

Holdingyournoseforafewbreathswillhelpyougetusedtothefeelingofbreathinginthroughyourmouth.Thiscanhelpmaketreatmenttimesshorter.

18 ItwilltakeafewbreathsfortheI-nebtostartdeliveringmedication.Whenthemedicationstartstobedelivered,youwillfeelavibrationwitheachbreath.Thisletsyouknowthemedicationisbeingdelivered.Whenthevibrationstops,theI-nebisstilldeliveringmedication.Continuetobreatheinforaslongaspossible.Duringthetreatment,thenumbershowingyourdosewilldisappear.Thebatterysymbolandfacewillremain.

19 ContinuetobreaththroughtheI-nebuntilyouhearthebuzzer.Thebuzzerletsyouknowthatyourmedicationhasbeendeliveredandthetreatmentiscomplete.Asmileyfacewillappearonthescreen.TheI-nebwillautomaticallyshutoffattheendofthetreatment.

5 Pausing your treatment20 Youmaypauseyourtreatmentatanytime

byremovingthemouthpiecefromyourmouth.IfyoudonotbreatheonyourI-nebfortwominutes,itwillgointo‘pausemode’(screenflashing).Tocontinueyourtreatment,pickuptheI-nebandstartbreathingthroughthemouthpiece.Ifyoudonotstartthetreatmentagainwithin10minutes,theI-nebwillautomaticallyshutoff.

21 IftheI-nebshutsoff,youcannotrestartyourtreatment.Youmusttakeitapart,emptythemedicationchamber,andcleanitasshowninstep30. Caution
