User Groups

There are 6 user groups (“worker levels”) in Penelope.

Each User Group has a unique home page and varying permissions with regard to access to functions and client records.

Additional Security Classes and Report Security Classes can be created and applied to specific users above and beyond their user group.

For more information on Security Classes and Report Security Classes, please see our Security Setting Tutorial found at:

User Groups: System AdminSystem Administrator: this group should be assigned as a role/function rather than a day-to-day login level. The main database setup and configuration is done on the System Administrator side. System Administrators do NOT have any access to clients, case files or activities of any kind.

User Groups: Clinical WorkerClinical Worker - this group are case workers who can be assigned as the

primary or other worker for a service file. They can only see their own service files, however, and have more restricted reporting permissions. Note: Clinical

Worker user group members do NOT have access to the Intake Wizard.

User Groups: Admin-ExecAdmin-Exec - this group is appropriate for administrative and executive

management support roles in the agency. This worker group level is distinguished by its access to all case records and reports. They can not

however, be assigned to cases as a primary or other worker, or view event notes (depending on security configuration).

User Groups: VolunteerVolunteer - this user group indicates workers who do not have any access to

case records, billing components and functions. This user group would be suitable for part-time volunteer staff who may record anonymous services,

participate in Informal Series, populate Blue Book records and book Indirect Events.
