The local authorities had experience using PPG’s Selemix Aqua range of products on train components such as bogies, garages for the bodies and internally as the plastic sheeting backing window surrounds. When the estimators were looking to find a new more economical alternative coating for the considerable areas of both floor and wall tiles, Selemix was an obvious choice with it’s trusted reliability.
Requirements
The previous coating to the ceramic tiles had appeared to have a low scratch resistance leading to a short lifespan. With narrow time margins to work to, a replacement product needed to have a fast return to service, a high resistance to scratching and anti graffiti qualities. Upon discussion with the technical team at PPG Selemix, it was decided that Selemix Aqua 2k Single Stage Topcoat would be an ideal replacement coating.
