B I O M A T R I X Organisation Design
TheOrganisationDesignCourseisoneofseveralBiomatrixDesignCourseswhicheducate executives, senior managers and decision-makers in the theory andmethodologyofsustainablesystem (re)designandcomplexproblemsolving. Itexplainsthegenericfunctioningofacoordinatedlearningorganisationasathree-dimensionalmatrixthatiswiredforongoingchangeandcanrespondcreativelytoitschangingbusinessenvironment.
Participantsusetheorganisationofwhichtheyareapartasthecasestudysystemthroughoutthecourse.Intemplate-drivenassignmentstheyidentifyandanalyseproblems,brainstormsolutions,createan idealdesign, implementationplanandchangemanagementplan for transforming thecasestudysystem.
AdmissionRequirements
No formal tertiary qualifications arerequired. Participants should haveminimumEnglishlanguagecompetenceatNQF level 4 or equivalent and somemanagementexperience.
Certificate of Competence
On successful completion of theprogramme,youwill receiveacertificateof competence from StellenboschUniversity.

2. SYSTEMIC PROBLEM (DIS)SOLVING Thismoduleexplainsthetheoryandpracticalstepsinvolvedin
complexproblemanalysisanddissolvingthemthroughidealsystemredesign.Assignmentsguideproblemanalysisandbrainstormingofsolutionsforthecasestudysystem.
3. SEVEN FORCES OF SYSTEM ORGANISATION: ENTITY SYSTEM PERSPECTIVE
Thismoduleexplainsthematrixdesignofentitysystemsbasedonsevenorganizingforcesandtheirorganisingprinciples.Assignmentsguidetheidealredesignofthecasestudysystem.
4. IMPLEMENTATION PLANNING Thismoduleexplainshowtomakeanimplementationplanforan
idealdesign.Assignmentsguidetheimplementationplanningoftheidealcasestudydesign.
5. CHANGE MANAGEMENT DESIGN Thismoduleexplainsthetheoryandpracticalstepsinvolved
inmanagingthetransformationofasystemwithstakeholderparticipationandalignment.Assignmentsguidethechangemanagementplanningforthecasestudysystemtransformation.
