ChallengeSpecial Bus ServiceAugust 21-22, 2013

Steamboat Springs Transit is excited to welcome the guests, participants andspectators associated with the 2013 USA Pro Cycling Challenge. We recommendthat people consider SST as an option for getting around as there will be severaldetours, limited parking and traffic delays. In anticipation of this event, SteamboatSprings Transit has developed additional routes and stops designed to effectivelymove people to and around the event. Described below are these new routes, times

they will operate and the best way to utilize Steamboat Springs Transit to enjoy thisworld class event.

Overview:

Formuchoftheevent,SSTwillbeoperatingthenormalSummerSchedule.Duringthe

Wednesdayevents,SteamboatSpringsTransitwillexpandourserviceto5different

routesbetween10:00amand7:00pm.

These5routeswillbe:

1. TheWestSteamboat(brown)LineservingfromtheSteamboatCampground, throughtheStockbridgeparkinglottoaspecialstopsetupattheCoretrailon

13thStreet.

2. TheLincolnAvenue(black)LineservingfromtheStockbridgeparkinglot,up

anddownOakStreetandLincolnAvenue(Hwy.40),throughtheGroceryStores

anduptotheGondolaTransitCenter.

3. TheYellowLinewillservemuchoftheareathatitnormallyserves.Duetoroad

closures,SSTwillnotbeabletoservetheHowelsencomplex.Themain

downtownbusstoplocationwillbeat7thandPineratherthantheSpaceStation

at7thandLincoln.Continuetocall(970)846-1279toarrangeservice.The

YellowLinewillgooutofserviceatitsregularlyscheduled6:20pmtime.

4. TheSteamboatBoulevard(pink)LinewillfollowSteamboatBoulevardtoavoid

thecongestionanticipatedonHwy.40.ThisroutewillconnecttheGondola

TransitCenterandaspecialstoplocatedbetween3rdand4thonOakStreet.

LookfortheHybridbuses(largegreenHybriddecalontheside)onthisroute.

5. TheCondo(green)Linewillservethemountainareaandtransferpassengers

attheGondolaTransitCentertoeithertheLincolnAvenueorSteamboat

inplace.Forsimplicity,SSTreferstostopsasMountainBound(MB)andTownBound(TB).Mountain

boundstopsarelocatedforbusestravelingtowardtheskiareaorinasouth/eastdirection.Townbound

busestravelfromtheskiareatowardthedowntownareaorinanorth/westdirection.

Temporarystopswillbeaddedat13thandtheCoreTrailinbothdirections.Stopswillalsobeaddedat

9th&Oak(MB),7th&Oak(MB),5th&Oak(MB),4th&Oak(MB),5th&Oak(TB),7th&Oak(TB)and9th

&Oak(TB).Stops44,45,46and47locatedonthetownboundsideofHwy.40willberemovedonHwy.

40whenthesouthsideofthestreetisclosedfortheracers.

Mountainboundstopsat11th&Lincoln,9th&Lincoln,7th&Lincolnand5th&Lincolnaswellasthe

Townboundstopsat3rd&Lincoln,5th&Lincoln,7th&Lincolnand9th&Lincolnwillallbeoutofservice

whilethedetoursareinplace.

AssoonasLincolnand/orHwy.40arereopened,thebuseswillreturntothenormalstopsandthe

temporarystopswillberemoved.

Schedule:SteamboatSpringsTransitwillbeoperatingtheregular20-minuteserviceschedulepriorto10:00amonWednesdayandafter7:00pmonWednesdayandforalldayonThursday.Extrabuseswillbeadded

duringpeaktimestoassistinmovingpassengersto,fromandaroundtheevents.

Wednesday:

Busesbeginserviceatthenormaltimes.At10:00am,buseswillswitchtothespecialserviceroutes.

TheWestEndbuswilloperateonthescheduledtimeslistedontheregularschedule.AnextraWestEnd

buswillassistinprovidingtimelyservice.

TheYellowLinewilloperateonthescheduledtimes,butdelaysareexpected.Yourpatienceis

appreciatedandwewillgetthebusthereassoonaspossible.Themaindowntownlocationwillbeat7th

andPineratherthantheSpaceStationat7thandLincoln.

TheGreenCondoLinewilloperateonthelistedscheduletimes.AnextraCondoLinebuswillassistin

providingtimelyservice.

Becauseofanticipatedtrafficdelays,boththeLincolnAvenueandSteamboatBoulevardlineswilloperate

continuously.Thismeansthatbuseswillrunonthisrouteasfrequentlyaspossible.Fourbusesare

scheduledtooperateontheSteamboatBoulevardlineand8busesarescheduledtooperateonthe

LincolnAvenueLine.

At7:00pm,buseswilltransitionbacktothenormalSummerRoutes.SSTwillaugmenttheregularly

scheduledservicewithadditionalbusestoprovidetimelyservicethroughouttheroute.Additionalbuses

willalsofillinafterthefireworkstohelptransportpassengersbacktothemountainandouttothewest.

The last bus will depart the Stockbridge, headed toward the mountain at 10:40 pm.Thursday:Busesbeginserviceatthenormaltimes.Theywilloperateontheregularschedule.Extra,nonscheduled

buseswilloperatebetweentheregularlyscheduledbusesbetween8:00amand2:00pmtoassistin

providingtimelyservice.

TheGondolaTransitCenterwillbeclosedpriortothestartoftherace,butbuseswillbeabletoaccess

bothsidesoftheGondolaBase(ApresSkiWayandVillageDriveaswellasSkiTimeSquare).

ExtrabuseswillbehelpingshuttlepassengersfromtheMeadowsParkingLottotheGondolaBasebefore

andaftertheracestarts.

No additional late night service will be provided.
