US History Honors 2015-2016 Mrs. Cynda Wood Room #119 Email: [email protected] Website: www.acesin119.com Course Overview: This course is a course set up to have students understand the United States History, how the United States was formed and the events that have lead up to the current United States. It will focus on the political, economic, and social features of our history. It will be broken up into two semesters, having an exam at the end of each semester covering that semester’s material. The class will be taught at the Honors level, and will be designed to help prepare the students for college, as well as expecting a certain amount of personal responsibility of students that choose to take the class at the honors level. Text: Pearson’s United States History Supplies: Three-ring notebook, loose-leaf notebook paper (preferably college ruled), pens and pencils, highlighter, art supplies when requested (or use what is provided) Notebooks: You will be required to take notes in class, which should be included in your notebook. This notebook should also include information that I will give you in class, writing assignments through the year, and any other handouts that are given. These notebooks are subject to be graded at anytime if I feel students have not been bringing them to class or keeping their materials together. This is a cumulative class and students are expected to keep their material throughout the entire year Grading: Grading will be divided as follows; Tests and major projects: 35% Homework 35% Writing: 15%

They will not be given during class time %e!ceptions being study halls that align with my planning period&. They must come see me outside of class time and mae a scheduled appointment to mae up wor after school or before school. This must be done within 1 calendar days of the student returning unless other arrangements have been made.
