AML Grants Program

Initiated in 1997 and designed to address pre-SMCRA AMD sites, this program was structured around existing State AML Grants in 12 states.

Site selection is a partnering effort between OSM, State AML Authority and private partners.

OSM Funding = $48.647 Million

Total Number of Projects = 117 Leveraged State & Watershed Funding = $28 Million Total Funding = $76.7 Million

Watershed Cooperative Agreement Program (WCAP) Nationwide (8 participating states)

Started in 1998 to promote clean-up of streams and watersheds impacted by AMD through partnerships and cooperative agreements.

Provides OSM grants for up to $100,000 for the construction of AMD projects.
