UPP™ SafetyConfined Space

• Some installation of UPP™ products may occur in confined spaces where a lack of oxygen and a concentration of toxic vapors is likely to be experienced.

Such working conditions are dangerous and all local health and safety guidelines for working in such environments should be followed.

Material HandlingProtective Equipment

• Ensure the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) is used at all times in line with local health and safety requirements.

Material Safety Data• Ensure all safety data is accessed and used while

installing UPP™ Systems (Material Safety Data Sheets are available in the download area of the UPP™ website).

Heavy items• Heavy items should be handled using suitable

lifting equipment operated by authorised personnel.

SafetyImportant! UPP™ Systems must only be installed by fully trained and certified installers.Failure to follow installation instructions will invalidate warranty and installer certification!

Opening and Closing the EASY LIFT 950 D400

1. Lift the tab of the security locking device.

2. Insert the key provided and turn it about 90 degrees counterclockwise to unlock the cover from the frame.

3. Lift the cover up to the maximum permitted

opening.

4. Push to close the lid until it is completely closed.5. Turn the key clockwise until it clicks into the bolt

and remove the key.

6. Close the safety lock

Replacing the Cover1. Unscrew the two bolts of the cover and remove

the cover.

2. Open the lid following the directions given above

(page 2) and open it fully.

3. Lift the lid out of the base.

Caution2 People should handle the lid as the cover weighs 100 kg (220 pounds)

1. Remove the springs2. Place springs on the new lid and lower the lid into

position making sure the extended ends of the springs are located in the recesses in the base.

3. Lower the lid

4. Continue to rotate the cover to the closed position.

5. Fit the lid and secure it with the two bolts.

Additional MaintenanceReplacing Seals

1. Open the cover with a handle. As per previous instructions (page 2).

2. Remove the old Seal.

3. Carefully clean the seal seat on the frame.4. Use a cyanoacrylate gel adhesive with slow

hardener.5. Carefully follow the instructions provided with the

adhesive. Apply the adhesive to the seal groove.6. Insert the new seal into the groove and press

briefly.7. Close the lid and wait to reopen until after about

24 hours.

Replacing the Lid LockClosure

Bolt

Allen Screw1. Open the cover.2. At the bottom of the closure, unscrew the m10

Allen screw.3. Pull out the bolt.4. Remove the lid closure.5. Grease the new closure and install it in the cover. 6. Install the bolt.7. Install the m10 Allen screw.

Changing Springs

1. Remove the cover from the frame per Instructions on page 4.

2. Remove the old springs.3. Insert new springs with the horizontal prongs

connected by the tube junction.

4. Replace the cover.
