HOW TO GO TO: La Posada de Huertas and MAD Hostel. From the airport to the accommodation: Take the metro in the airport, line 8 (pink one) to Nuevos Ministerios. In Nuevos Ministerios change to line number 6 (grey one) to Pacfico station. In Pacfico station change to line number 1 (light blue one) to Antn Martn. This is the way you have to do only 2 changes. By metro is the faster and easier way to reach the hostel from the airport. From train station Atocha to the accommodation: Take the metro in the train station, line 1 (light blue one) to Antn Martn. But from Atocha train station you can go by foot. Its very close. From the bus station Mndez lvaro to the accommodation Take the metro in the bus station, line 6 (grey one) to Pacfico. In Pacfico change to line 1 (light blue one) to Antn Martn.

March, Friday 14 th Welcome Party: The party will be in Tatoom/Bolshoi (Avenida de Brasil, 3. Metro: Santiago Bernabeu).

Meeting Point: at 22:30, at the Metro Station Santiago Bernabeu, exit: Azca. (Or at 22:30 in TATOOM/BOLSHOI if you want to go by yourself) You should look for the BEST- UPM students in order to get your drink; they will wear t-shirts with BEST- UPM logo on it. You had better come smartly dressed. First free drink ticket, is given by BEST-UPM students, but you must show your ID-Card with picture and arrive to the pub BEFORE 00:30.

Remarks: Make sure you bring an ID card (with picture) or your passport with you.

HOW TO GO TO: from the accommodation to the party

Posada & MAD. Take the metro in Antn Martin station, line 1 (light blue one) to Tribunal station, then change train to Line 10 (Dark blue) to Santiago Bernabeu. (exit: Azca)

Remarks: Dinner is NOT included. Very Important: Transports during the night. The city has efficient network of night transport that work during all the night so you can come back to the hostel by bus when you want. You can go in `bho, buses that end and begin their line at Cibeles and the frequency depends on the day of the week, around 40 minutes from Sunday to Thursday and 20 minutes in Fridays and Saturdays nights.

March, Saturday 15th Registration and Welcoming Reception: at 11:30 a.m Registration for the ATHENS March Session at the Rectorado de la Universidad Politcnica de Madrid. Edificio A (av/Ramiro de Maeztu 7, Metro Station: Metropolitano, Exit: Gregorio del Amo). You must look for the table with the number of your course and do the registration there. You will pay for the social Activities and Organizers will give you your welcome Pack. Students have to pay for the European Dimension Activities fee: 25 during registration. 11.30 a.m. Official Welcome to the ATHENS March 2013 Session, with the

participation of UPM International Office and ATHENS Co-ordinator, co-ordinators

and professors of the ATHENS session courses, together with the Students

Delegates ("Team Leaders") in charge of the students-tutoring for the extra-

academic activities.

12:30 am Visit to Madrid- City Rally

It is a game to make a first contact with the city and with other participants of the

programme. All the participants, divided into groups, will enjoy a journey around the

city of Madrid, playing games in some of the more famous points of the city. Dont

forget to bring your camera!.

We will provide you the lunch during the City Rally.

City Rally will finish at 17:30 at Plaza de Espaa. If you are late, youll miss points

From the airport to the meeting place: Take the metro in the airport, line 8 (pink one) to Nuevos Ministerios. In Nuevos Ministerios change to line number 6 (grey one) to Metropolitano station.

From the accommodation to the meeting place on Saturday:

Posada & MAD Take the metro in Antn Martn, line number 1 (light blue one) to Pacfico. Change in Pacfico to line number 6 (grey one) to Metropolitano. Or go to Cuatro Caminos station and there change to line number 6 (grey one) to Metropolitano. The faster is changing in Pacfico, line 6 is faster than the line 1. .

In Metropolitano station, take the exit Gregorio del Amo, and follow the map.

March, Sunday 16th Visit to the two most important museums in Madrid: Visit to Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofa, lunch at the Retiro Park and visit to Museo Nacional del Prado. You mustnt take pics inside the museums. We will provide you this day with the lunch (a sandwich with a drink). After lunch you have free time. We suggest to you spend some time visiting Retiro Park. The entrance to Museo del Prado is free after 17:00. Meeting point 11:00 am, at the metro station Atocha and take the exit: Glorieta Emperador Carlos V. HOW TO GO From the accommodation to Museo Reina Sofia if you miss the meeting point

Posada & MAD: Take the metro in the station Antn Martn, line 1 (light blue one) to Atocha station. Atocha, not Atocha Renfe, ok? You can use this option if you are very very tired after the Saturday night. But the easier and faster way is go by foot. Museo Reina Sofa is very, very close from La Posada de Huertas and Mad Hostel You are not allowed to go inside the museum with your camera. You can leave it at the entrance of the museum.

From the accommodation to the ETS Arquitectura Take the Metro in the station Antn Martn, line number 1 (light blue one) to Cuatro Caminos or to Pacfico. In Cuatro Caminos or Pacfico change to line number 6 (the grey one) to Ciudad Universitaria. You can go to Moncloa station with the line 6 (the grey one), or with line 3 (the yellow one). If you want this second option you have to take the metro in metro station Antn Martn, line number 1 (light blue one) to Sol. Change in Sol to line number 3 (yellow one) to Moncloa.

March, Tuesday 18th Night Walk

The purpose of the Night Walk is to show you madrilian Night-life while taking a stroll through the most emblematic places in the centre of Madrid. You will be split in groups, and people from BEST-UPM will pick you up at the Metro Station Opera (line2, the red one) at 21:00h. The walk will take (more or less) one hour and a half ( maybe 2 hours) The meeting point is quite close from the hostel, you can go walking. In the map you can see the way to follow from the hostel Posada de Huertas which is near the hostel Mad Hostel. Remarks: Dinner is NOT included. Contact phone numbers:

March, Friday 21th You had better come smartly dressed, this party place is a cool one, please dont forget some fancy clothes. Dont need a suit, but a shirt and shoes may be welcome. You must show us your ID-card with picture or your passport in order to get your free drink Farewell party: The party will be in El Dobln (c/ Juan de Bravo 35, Metro station: Diego de Len or Nez de Balboa). Meeting Point: at 22:30, at the Metro Station Diego de Len, exit Juan Bravo-Conde Pealver. You should look for the BEST- UPM students in order to get your drink; they will wear t-shirts with BEST- UPM in it. You had better come smartly dressed. First free drink ticket, is given by BEST-UPM students, but you must show your ID-Card with picture. For a free drink you have to be before 00:30.
