Upgrade siebel 7.7.2.6 to 8.1.1.0 on sun solaris

We are doing a upgrade of our existing environment 7.7.2.6 to
8.1.1.0. I havefollowed the below steps using the SEA media
packs.
1. Copy existing DB to new instance (oracle 10g)
2. Install gateway, siebel sever, Database configuration
utilities adn EAI connectors
3. Configures gateway, enterprise server and created swse
logical profile4. When tried to configure siebel server, got the
"C028 unable to connect ro siebelgateway name server" error so
cancelled it. (using SADMIN database user/pwd forGateway
authentication)
Saw in few posts that the siebel server configuration should be
done after DB
upgrade. Could some one has any step by step process (sequencial
commands.. etc)for a successful upgrade. also kind of sequence of
commands or steps to upgrade tehexisting DB.

Hi,
We have numerous presentations on Siebel upgrades you can check
out. We are alsospeaking at OAUG Collaborate 09 in May on the
subject of Siebel upgrades.
It is not realistic to expect an answer to your question on this
forum. Just reading ourPPT presentations would take you quite some
time.
The best place to start is with a detailed upgrade assessment.

We were able to resolve the gateway issue - we recreated the
Database instance andimported the existing siebel DB and did a
fresh reinstallation adn configuration of thesiebel V8.1.1. but we
now have a issue with the server startup. The SRProc fails with
below message.

Message:Index in Siebel Dictionary has no columns.,
Additional Message: TODO_PLAN_END_DT_X

SRVR_FLOW_ID_VAL
Came to know from oracle that these columns come with v8.0 and
not part of
