I. Prerequisite Checklist

VERIFY THAT YOU HAVE A VALID BACKUP OF YOUR SYSTEM PRIOR TOUPGRADING TO THE 32 BIT VERSION OF EBIX.ONE

Network OS requirement:Microsoft Windows NT 4.X utilizing Network Protocol TCP/IP.Important - You must have the most current service pack (3 or higher) for NT 4installed. Refer to www.microsoft.com

OR: Novell NetWare version 4.X utilizing Network Protocol IP/SPX.Important: You must have the most current service pack for NetWare operatingsystem installed. Refer to support.novell.com.

Pervasive SQL 7.0. You must have the most current service pack for Pervasiveinstalled. Download all applicable service packs for server, workstation andrequester. Refer to www.pervasive.com. Service Packs 3 and 5 have beenincluded under the \3rdParty directory on the ebix.one CD for your convenience.

HP PCL5 and compatible laser printers are supported.

Windows 95/98 on workstations.

Office 97 with service pack 1 or service pack 2.

Have installed the latest QMR (1-99) which reflects version 8.00.14.

200 MB available space in your TEMP file on the workstation that is doing theupgrade.

Print out your Menu Security List prior to upgrading. Menu Security Levels andPasswords do NOT convert to the 32-bit system. After upgrading, you will need toload/enter this information manually into the 32-bit system. (In the 32bit product,double click the Menu Window icon. Go to Maintenance, then Menus. Double clickon Menu Security. Enter the appropriate security levels and passwords for eachmenu and submenu. You will need Supervisor authority to access this area.)

Run the CLEARCSR Program prior to doing the upgrade.

Process all tracking files if not up-to-date.

II. Upgrading ebix.one

1. Locate the CD install disk of the new ebix.one version. You should also have a 3.5inch floppy disk for registration. Load these disks into the correct drives.

2. In Windows, click on Start and then Run. Locate the drive where you loaded the CD.Select setup.exe and press Enter. The following screen appears.

3. Press the Next button. The following screen displays.

4. Verify the correct path is entered and press OK.

5. The following Summary Sheet displays:

6. Verify the above information. Press Next. The following screen displays:

7. Press Yes. (If you press No, you receive a message advising you to call DMG andthe upgrade process aborts.)

8. The License Agreement screen displays:

9. If you accept all the terms of the License Agreement, press Yes. If not and youpress No, the setup process closes. The Choose Destination Location screendisplays next:

10. Verify the directory is correct. If not, enter the correct directory. Press Next.

11. The following Enter Information window displays:

14. The Image Software Executable Location window displays:

15. At the Image Software Executable Location screen, either accept the default (if youare on Windows 95) or enter the executable for the imaging software viewer youdesire to use and press Next.

16. The start Copying Files screen displays next. After viewing your settings, pressNext.

17. Your system is being updated to the new 32-bit version. You will see a box, similarto the one below, which indicates the status of the copy process. Your data is alsoconverted. This process can take from 10 minutes or longer depending on the speedof your machine and the amount of data being converted.

18. The following Confirm window displays after all the files have been copied:

19. Click on Yes to remove ALL prior installation and files related to the early Easyformintegration. That product is no longer sold or supported by ebix.com, Inc. Whenyour update is finished, you receive a message indicating this.

21. The Setup Complete window displays:

REMOVE THE CD AND 3.5" DISK.

III. Removing your 16 Bit Program Group

Prior to upgrading the workstations, you should remove your 16 Bit Program Group.

a) In Windows, click on Start.b) Go to Settings, then Taskbar & Start Menu.c) Click on the tab: Start Menu Program.d) Click on the Advanced button.

e) When Explorer opens, click on the plus sign next to 'Programs' to open the list.f) Highlight your 16bit system and right click your mouse.g) Click on Delete.

IV. Installing the Workstation

1. Start with the Administrators workstation and then install all subsequentworkstations. Verify that the CD and 3.5 disk are removed.

2. Delete your delphi.ini file by right clicking on it and selecting Delete. This file islocated on each PC in the Windows directory:

3. At Windows, click on Start, then on Run. Browse for the location of the your system.For example, f:\cdprod\sysfiles\setup.exe.

4. The ebix.one Workstation Installation window displays:

6. Click on the Administrator Workstation option. (On any remaining workstations, youwould choose the User Workstation option.).

7. The following Select Program folder displays:

13. When this screen displays, click on the Add button and the following Create newData Source window displays:

DDF Directory f:\cdprod\data (click on the Browse key. Go to thedirectory where you installed ebix.one. Locate the'data' file. Press OK.)

18. The Setup Complete window displays:

19. Press Finish to restart your workstation.

20. Re-run your system registration. To do this, insert your Registration Disk.

a) Click on Start and go to Programs.b) Highlight 'ebix.one 32 Bit Administrator' and click on Update.c) Click on System Registration.d) Select from Disk.

21. Repeat the workstation installs on your other PCs..

22. After installing all other workstations, continue to the next section to install thecdone.fon font.

The cdone.fon font needs to be installed on every user’s workstation utilizing the normalWindows installing fonts function. To do this, click on Start, Settings and select ControlPanel:

Click on File and Install new Font:

The Add Fonts window displays:

The cd.one Dialog font will display in the List of Fonts box. (The actual file name iscdone.fon, but you will not see it listed). Click once on cd.one Dialog to highlight it andthen click once on the OK button.

If you cannot find on the local PC under C:\Windows\System\ directory, you can locate acopy of the file on the CD ROM where the ebix.one CD is loaded under the directoryEBIX_ONE_90300\Programs\Sysfile\Winshare\.

The Fonts window will redisplay after the font has been installed;

Notice that the cd.one Dialog font is now present.

Repeat on every user’s workstation. If each workstation does not have a CD ROM, copythe font to a floppy disc first or out to your network where you can see it from anyworkstation. Then when you go to install it simply select the floppy or the directory onthe network where you stored it.

Installing Cognos Catalogs

If you plan on using Cognos Impromptu version 5.0, you will need to install the Catalogsthat make it easier to produce custom reports. Click on Start and Run:

Click on Browse:

Locate your CD ROM drive with the ebix.one CD and select the folder 3rdParty and clickonce to highlight Cognos.exe and then click Open:

Click once on the OK button.

If the default directory shown is not correct for where your cdprod directory is locatedclick on Change directory and locate it. Once everything is correct, click on the largebutton with the picture of the computer. When completed, the following window displays:

Click once on the OK button to finish.

Note: You need Cognos Impromptu version 5.0 and the Merant Pervasive ODBCdrivers to actually utilize these catalogs. Contact ebix.com’s Direct Marketing Group formore information at 1-800-433-5744.

V. Logging into ebix.one

1. On your desktop, click on your ebix.one logo. The Login screen displays

7. Looking at the toolbar, you see a selection of icons. Placing your cursor over eachicon displays the name of each icon. They are described as follows:

Login Database

Open database. This is dimmed, as the database isopen.

Logout Database

Close database.

ebix.com Web Site

You must have internet connection from your PC toaccess the web site.

Calculator

Calculator available for use.

Change Client Filter

Opens the Customer Service viewing order options.Currently available are Customer level choices. Clientfilter(sort) defaults to insured code until changed by theuser.

Find Client

Use this icon to locate a current client in order to makechanges to the policy. This is also known as theNavigator.

Add New Client

Use this icon to add new clients to the database.

Menu WindowUse the plus signs (+) to openthe lists of tasks listed at right.

Accounting (includes Accounts Payable, Budgets,Cash Receipts, Claims, Direct Bill Renewals, GeneralLedger, Installments, Invoice Processing, JournalEntries, Late Charges, Reconciliations, SpecialProcessing)

Activities (includes Claims Transactions,Connectivity, Correspondence, Customer Service,Forms, Office, Procedures & Workstation)

You have the option to customize your toolbar.

Add an icon to the toolbar: Highlight the icon first. Once highlighted, hold the left mousecursor down and drag it to your tool bar.

Delete the icon from your toolbar: Place your cursor on the icon and right click yourmouse. Select Customize. You will see the list of icons you have added. Select theitems you wish to delete and press the Delete button.

VI. Special Notes

♦ Menu Security does not convert from the 16bit program. Remember to reenter yourmenu security levels and passwords. (Double click the Menu Window icon. Go toMaintenance, then Menus. Double click on Menu Security. You are now in theMenu Security program. Double click each menu item that you wish to enter securitylevels and passwords. Enter the appropriate security levels and passwords for eachmenu and submenu. Remember, you need Supervisor authority to access thisarea.)

♦ Screen savers dramatically slow down processing. Your server and any workstationthat run long processes (e.g. EOM) should not have any screen savers.

♦ Menu Items are rearranged. Please see prior section which describes the new MainMenu and the toolbar options. Items in all menus and submenus are arrangedalphabetically.

♦ Each user can customize their toolbar by adding their programs to the tool bar.these icons follow the user if the user moves to another desk.

♦ Fax integration is not part of the actual new install. Contact ebix.com, Inc. sales onpurchasing this option if it was not included in your contract.

♦ The On-line Documentation and Help are being updated to reflect the new product.This will be an on-going process. Updates will be sent to you as part of the QuarterlyMaintenance Releases (QMR). If you encounter material that either variesdrastically from how the system is now working or missing, please open a Supportcall. For the On-line Documentation, please indicate the name of the document withthe .pdf extension. The document name can be found in the title bar (upper leftcorner and enclosed in brackets) when you open Acrobat Reader. For On-line Help,indicate the Program Name (use F11) and the progression of how you got to thescreen.

♦ An electronic .pdf copy of this document can be found on the ebix.one CD under theroot directory.

As part of the update, the forms are being made easier to use. As you look at the blankform, sections are numbered. Place your mouse arrow in the section that you wantmore information and click. Your arrow turns into a pointing hand and you are taken tothe sections' description. You still have the option to print out the form with thenumbered descriptions. This interactivity is now on the following forms:
