UPES COMMUNITY WEB RADIO is a radio service will be available tothe all the students of the UPES on the web i.e. Online.

UPES consists of approximately 3700 students and 400 Faculty Members

so we thought that there is a strong need of interaction and coordinationwithin each other.

We thought that we should bring a common platform where everyone willcome and express their views and thoughts and thereby gain from thisinitiative.

So we are planning to implement UPES COMMUNITY WEB RADIO thatwe named it as AAWAZ.

The audio enters the Internet broadcasters encoding computerthrough a sound card. The encoder system translates the audio from the sound card into

streaming format. The encoder samples the incoming audio andcompresses the information so it can be sent over the Internet.

The compressed audio is sent to the server, which has a highbandwidth connection to the Internet.

The server sends the audio data stream over the Internet to the

player software or plug-in on the listeners computer. The plug-in translates the audio data stream from the server andtranslates it into the sound heard by the listener.

There are two ways to deliver audio over the Internet:downloads or streaming media.

We choose Streaming Media as medium ofTransmission.

Streaming is continuous broadcast that works throughthree software packages: the encoder, the server andthe player.

From the above discussion and the survey thus conducted it has beenobserved that most of the students are in favor of starting of thisservice.

So the concept can be better used as an initiative where we can provide all

the necessary important things to the students which solve our purpose ofCommunity Radio.

Providing what you want will only work here.

Charging nominal fees for programmes and events so to keep the webservices running, service will be free to you all on net.

miles). the available broadcast spectrum.

Internet radio has no geographic limitations.

In comparison to traditional radio, Internet radiois not limited to audio. An Internet radio broadcastcan be accompanied by photos or graphics, text andlinks, as well as interactivity, such as message

boards and chat rooms. The cost of getting on the air is less for an

Internet broadcaster, and Internet radio can appealto micro-communities of listeners.
