Upcycled Greeting Cards  BUEI Education’s “Stay At Home” activity for the Eco-Schools                 Waste and Litter Minimisation Pathway is perfect for this                 December holiday season. The excitement we all share in gifting                   presents and cooking large family meals doesn’t necessarily               have to be at the cost of our environment. Read below on how                         you can make a difference this year!   

Did you know?  According to the Greeting Card Association, American consumers purchase                 approximately 7 billion greeting cards each year. In the UK, a typical year sees                           over 2 billion cards sold. Between just those two countries, if the purchased                         cards were aligned end-to-end, they would stretch around the world 54 times!                       In the USA, those 7 billion greeting cards means approximately 2.5 million trees                         

are cut down.  Make your own Christmas cards  Pull out the old magazines, glue sticks, paints and colored                   paper/printer paper! Get your kids to find adorable or                 funny images from the magazines, then cut out little santa                   hats from the pages with red print on them! Sweet and                     simple!
