Dear Parents This week in BIST Primary we are celebrating Book Week. I have been ringing the special reading bell each day that indicates to all staff and students that it is time to drop what they are doing and enjoy a few minutes of reading. In class, we have enjoyed watching videos of some par- ents reading their favourite books and the children have also been working on an oracy-based task which will lead to an in-class performance at the end of the week. We are now looking forward to Friday and seeing as many won- derful book character costumes as possible! PRIMARY PROGRESS AWARDS

We are now amidst the preparation for the long awaited British Lions Holiday Camp which is due to start in the April break. The day in the camp will begin with children being dropped off at school by parents between 8.45am-9.00am. They will then have specialised tennis, swimming and football/basketball sessions before being picked up be-tween 12.00pm-12.15pm. More information will be shared with parents soon, if you have any questions please con-tact Mr. Hammond.

BRITISH LIONS HOLIDAY CAMP Our new climbing wall is now in full use by students. Following an extensive training course for some of our staff by climbing wall specialists, small groups of stu-dents are now enjoying climbing as an additional ac-tivity in their PE lessons.

REACHING NEW HEIGHTS

One of our new community service partners is the Geor-gian Down Syndrome Association. They will be speaking to students in Years 5 and 6 next week and selling socks to raise money for their programmes. Please see the at-tached poster.
