weather is getting warmer which means its time to get ready for Summer! Our

Today, we invite the entire congregation to visit the second floor of the Reiner Education Building, as well as the Nursery on the first floor in the same build-ing. The classrooms and spaces are bursting with new and exciting things for our children to explore. Join us, along with the pastors, for a consecration of the spaces immediately following the 9:30 service on this day. Refreshments will be served.

United Methodist Night at the Philadelphia Phillies is Saturday, July 29 vs. the Atlanta Braves. Game time is 7:00pm, and seats are in left field (shade). Buses depart from Sears Auto Center at the Berkshire Mall at 3:15pm.

"Prayer is where the Action is!"--John Wesley. Altar Prayer Training May 13 @ 9AM HeBrews Cafe'. Mark Batterson's Book Draw the Circle: The 40 Day Prayer Challenge asks us to pray and pray in increasingly bold ways. Praying for others is the mission of the Altar Prayer Team. West Lawn UMC is adding new team members. We are sure that some of you are feeling God's nudge to be more bold in praying for others. Consider attending the Altar Prayer Team Training. There will be a Virginia Mission Trip meeting on April 25th at 7:00PM in the HeBrews Café for anyone going on this mission trip.

Relay For Life is doing a fundraiser involving new and gently used shoes. Any size (kids, women's, men's) and type (flip flops, sandals, shoes, sneakers, boots, etc.) are accepted. Please put your shoes in a bag, mark it "RELAY" and drop them off at the church office.

EPA Conference will be offering col-lege grants for 2017-18. Applications received in the Conference Office be-tween May 1-15 will be considered. Appl icat ions are avai lable at www.epaumc or Welcome Ctr.

Opp for college-age young adults (18-25): QuadW Missional Internship is a paid 7½ week summer internship (including room and board) working Read-ing. Students would be working with a city children’s ministry as well as serv-ing at Hope Rescue Mission, and here at WLUMC. For the past 12 years Wayne & Linda Weikel have lead the efforts of hosting individuals in need from Family Prom-ise. We have been very thankful for all those who continue to serve and espe-cially for the Weikels’ leadership. We are now looking for people who would like to continue this sheltering effort at West Lawn UMC by volunteering to step into the coordinator roles. If you or your small group would like to serve those in need, this is a mission in which you can participate right here at home.
