1. About the School
1.1 The Incorporated Management Committee of True Light Girls'
College
The Education Bureau has started the implementation of school-based
management since 2000. With the introduction of school-based
management, the Government devolves more responsibilities to the
schools and provides them with greater autonomy and flexibility in
managing their operations, resources and planning for school
development. The ultimate aim of school-based management is to
improve teaching standards and learning outcomes. The Incorporated
Management Committee (IMC) of True Light Girls’ College was
formally established on 1 September 2011 aiming at enhancing the
transparency of school management through the participation of
various key stakeholders, including teachers, parents and alumni.

3. Functions of school rules 3.1 General principles
Our school, founded in accordance with the motto “Thou art the
light of the world”, has always been breeding generations of
elites. We are generally acknowledged as a school with good
discipline. Hence our graduates are always considered to be
trustworthy and at the same time the society has high expectations
of our students.
We consider rules and ethos of a school are vitally interrelated.
At school our students should not only pursue knowledge, but also
learn to mingle well with others so as to equip themselves with
essential skills for their work in the future. With high emphasis
on human rights nowadays, we agree that while there are rights that
students are entitled to have, they also have the obligation to
follow school regulations. The setting of school rules is to
protect the right of all students and ensure the school will not be
thrown into disorder. If students of a school are casual and have
no regard for
discipline, their learning will be seriously affected and even the
school reputation in the community will be tarnished. Setting
school rules will let our students know what behaviour is desirable
and set a common standard for teachers to guide students’
behaviour. More importantly, our students will be nurtured to be
studious, respectful, tidy and unadorned; and therefore can equip
themselves to contribute to the society.
Our school rules are solemn, reasonable and can easily be followed.
They are also revised constantly after careful deliberation, taking
into consideration the school’s fine tradition and the changes in
society. The rules are thoroughly listed in the Student
Handbook.
We hope that our students can maintain an upright character and a
decorous appearance so as to fulfill their responsibilities as
students and uphold the school’s prestige. As parents are concerned
about their daughters' performance in all aspects, we cordially
hope that parents can understand the school's arrangements,
actively cooperate with the school and urge your daughters to
strive to abide by the school rules.

5.4 Religious Education
The mission of the Religious Education Committee is to lead
our
students to understand the truth of Christ and to develop their
good
characters by education. Through various religious activities,
we
expect to develop students’ passion in their spiritual lives, to
help
them understand the teachings of Jesus and to discover their
identities as the children of God from the words of the Bible
by
exploring the questions encountered in life. Through regular
meetings, functions and camping activities of the Student

understanding of the country and their national identity can be
enhanced through participating in various study tours and exchange

activities with the belief that voluntary services can change both
the recipients and the volunteers. This is accomplished by
combining service tasks with structured service opportunities that

best learning experience is not gained by passive participation in
service activities, but is acquired in situations shaped and
initiated by the students. Our school provides lots of
opportunities for our students to serve the community in this way.
Through different organizations like Community Youth Club, Girl
Guides, Junior Police Call, Oxfam Club, Red Cross Youth Unit,
