The molasses also gives brown sugar a richer taste and moist texture. While some people may believe that brown sugar has more nutritional benefits truly white sugar and brown sugar are very similar nutrition wise. Brown sugar does have a larger mineral content including calcium, potassium, magnesium, and iron, but only in trace amounts. Brown sugar and white sugar are both a simple carbohydrate source. Grilled Peaches and Cream Ingredients 4 Peaches 2 Tbsp honey 1 Cup soft cream cheese with honey and nuts 1 Tbsp vegetable oil Directions 1. Preheat a grill on medium-high heat. Cut peaches in half and remove the pits. 2. Brush peaches with a light coating of oil. Place pit side down onto the grill. 3. Grill for 5 minutes, or until the surfaces have nice grill marks. 4. Turn the peaches over, and drizzle with a bit of honey. Place a dollop of the cream cheese spread in the place with the pit was. 5. Grill for 2-3 more minutes or until the filling is warm. Below are three facts about Greek yogurt- Good source of probiotics which help with gut health Approximately twice the amount of protein than regular yogurt Good source of calcium and phosphorous that are needed for bone health New satellite fueling station! ISU sports nutrition is fueling athletes around campus, including now at the student academic center. This fueling station has an assortment of fruit, and bars including CLIF, Muscle Milk protein, and Quaker oatmeal bars. We also post handouts with information on popular nutrition topics. Taste Testing Tuesdays We will be continuing Taste Test Tuesdays until the end of the school year. Taste Test Tuesdays take place in the weight room of Redbird Arena and are open to all coaches, staff, administration, athletes, and sports medicine staff. Some items we highlighted were whole wheat banana muffins, build your own trail mix, and veggie snacks! Check out our Twitter to see what we are offering that week.
