Michael threw a pair of dirty jeans in a box. The super had finally decided to buy a new washerand dryer and Michael decided he was going to use it first. He walked down the two flights ofstairs to the basement. He stood there ,looking at the new washer, absorbing the fact he wasgoing to have washed clothes in at least a half an hour. All of a sudden, he heard tools hitting the

ground. The sound was coming from a closet that was a storage place for the stuff people didn'twant but couldn't throw away. Michael moved some boxes to the side and before he could walkin, he was pushed to the side by Kyle Valenti , who ran up the stairs muttering "Wait 'till Dadsees this! ".Not knowing what that meant, he walked in and right before his eyes, was a pod. Notjust any pod, but one that looked exactly like the ones he ,Max Evans,and Max's sister,IsabelEvans had. He wiped some of the frost that was on it aside and saw there was a brown haired girlwho looked like Michael sleeping peacefully. He looked back at the door that Kyle and him hadjust went through. He knew what he had to do. Very gently, he picked up the pod and onceagain, walked through the door and set the pod on his dirty clothes. He could not leave her there,Kyle would come back with his father and they would take the pod, and he was certain, theywould kill her.

"So are you sure you found her here?" Maria asked Michael. She was a little confused whenMichael called her for such a serious reason, she had been almost sure that he would have calledMax and Isabel first.

"I'm sure." Right now they were at the spot where Michael found the pod.

"So, like can we go back up to your apartment? I mean, you said Kyle went to go get his dad,and I really don't want to be here when they get here."

"Yeah, I guess so." They trotted up the stairs.

"Um...Michael?"Maria asked.

"Yes?"

"Why didn't you call Max or Isabel?" {silence}" Or both?" She knew she shouldn't have asked,but she had to know.

"They would have just added more confusion to the situation, ya know? And I figured that itwas either you or Liz, so I chose you."

"Chose me? Michael--" He covered her mouth with his hand.

"Don't ruin the moment for me, ok??"

"Ah pay." she said, her voice muffled. He removed his hand.

"Um, Michael?"

"Can I see her?"

"Oh, yeah."Then Michael opened the door to the apartment and they both walked in

Both Michael and Maria walked into the apartment. Michael kept looking over his shoulder thewhole way up because he felt like he was being watched. No one was ever behind him. WhileMaria oohed and ahhed about the pod, Michael thought about how it would be after she hatched.Would he have to teach her how to live like social services had taught him? How could he takecare of her? Would her take care of her? And why did she look older then when Michael cameout of his pod? Maria interrupted his thoughts.

"Uh, Michael, I think now would be a good time to call Max and Isabel."

"Why?" Michael asked.

"Because I think she's hatching."

"Why didn't you call us?" Max angrily asked Michael.

"Because I didn't."

" Thatsnot an answer, Michael." Michael had called Max, Isabel ,Liz and Tess after he saw hermove inside the pod and the middle start to crack. He thought that if something was wrong withher Max could heal her. Now he wished he hadn't called.

"Look," Liz said,"You guys fighting isn't gonna help anything. Right now all we should bedoing is talking about what we're going to do once it hatches."

"Well, it's definitely not staying with Michael." Max said.

"And why not?"

"You couldn't take care of her. She'd probably die the first week. I should take her."

"And what if I don't give her to you?"

"You have no choice. I am king, what I say goes."

"You are not telling me what to do!"

"Yes I am!"

"You guys stop it!" Maria yelled. "Max, it's not fair to treat Michael like that. And it's not fairthat you can just say "I want her" and have her. Michael found her, he should take care of her."

"But how do we know that Michael will take care of her?" Liz said.

"How could you guys say he wouldn't?" Maria asked.

"I'm standing right here you know," Michael said as he came up behind Maria and hugged herwaist.

"You know what?" Isabel said," I think you guys are only taking their sides because their yourboyfriends."

"Well, I'm taking care of her," Michael stated, "Max, Liz, Isabel, would you be so kind to getout of my house, Tess , you can stay if you want."

Then, the only people left were Michael, Maria, and Tess .

IN THE BASEMENT:

"Kyle, I thought you said there was something down here." Sherrif Valenti said to his son, Kyle.

"I swear there was dad. It was here a second ago."

"Sure, Kyle.Come on lets go home."

"I can't believe they didn't think you could take care of her." Maria said to Michael. "And I can'tbelive Liz and Max acted like that, it was so unlike them!"

"I know." Michael said.

"Maybe something was on their minds," Tess said.

"I don't think so," Michael said "Max would have said something about it."

"Maybe," Maria said, "but I don't think so."

"Michael, can I use your bathroom?"

" Sure." After Tess is gone, he says, "Thanks for sticking up for me."

"No problem. And Michael, it wasn't true what Isabel said, I didn't take your side because you'remy boyfriend. Even though I don't think we are together........."

"We are."

"We are?"

"Yeah."

"And when was I going to know about this?"

"I never knew we broke up."

"Oh .(Pause) Oh My God, Michael, look at the pod!" He looked. She was moving inside andthen the entire middle split open. " Tess!" Michael screamed.

"What is it?"

"The pod, it's hatching!" Tess and Michael ran closer to the pod, while Maria stood fartheraway. When the entire middle was peeled off by the little girl, Michael could see her moreclearly. She had wild light, light hair, with streaks of very dark brown running through it. She

had screaming silver- blue eyes, and had a birth-mark in the same place Michael did. Then thelittle girl had enough room to step out. Tess backed away to where Maria was, and then Maria satnext to Michael. The little girl's feet stepped wobbly on the floor. She looked at Michael andMaria and said "Momma? Daddie ?" Then she ran into Michael arms, saying "I'm so glad I get tosee you again!"

*FLASH*

Michael, on his home planet, with Isabel by his side.Then a young woman that looked likeMaria dragged him into a pantry and started making out with him hungerly . Then it wentfurther...

*NEXT FLASH*

Michael leaving Isabel and going with the Maria like girl... them getting married... and then,them having a child.

*END OF FLASHES*

"Michael?" Maria said from his side " What did you see?"

"I saw the truth.....this is our baby."

"What?" Tess said, now behind Maria, who just sat there, watching the little girl as she ran fromMichael's arms and into the kitchen.

"I, I saw a flash." Michael stammered. "I saw a flash of me and Maria, and then she had a baby.That child." He pointed to the little girl.

"But, how?" Tessasked.

"I can tell you how." Nasedo was in the doorway of the once locked door.

" Nasedo."Michael said. He knew instantly who it was. He could feel him.

"Yes." He looked at Maria, who had finally blinked after five minutes.

"How could this be?" Tess asked again.

"All I can tell you is yes, that is Michael and Maria's child. How it was concieved on anotherplanet, I can't say."

"But you know right?" Maria said, finally speaking.

"Yes."

"Then why can't you tell us?"

"Because you can't handle the truth."

"God!"Maria yelled "You sound like you came out of some stupid football movie! What are yougoing to do now? Slap me on the butt?!" Nesado eyes soften. "You are going to tell me howMichael and I had this baby and you are going to tell me now!"

"You want to know, Maria?" Nesado yelled back, "When we were back on our planet, you,Max, Isabel and Tess , I had a child with a different race. And that child, Maria, is you."

"No!" Maria screamed, "My mother is Amy DeLuca , she and I live at1626 Mothrow Lane , andshe is not and alien!"

"Maria, you were sent here a different way. You were to precious to me and I didn't want youkilled. Our race had turned on me already for you having a child with Michael, and the only wayto get you to earth was to have Amy have you at a certain time so you could live inside her andbe born safely."

"My mother wasn't even born yet !"

"Yes, but her mother was. When she had Amy, you were passed down to her. You were insideAmy even though she wasn't pregnant. Amy is not your mother, and I am your father. I knowyou don't undersand , Maria, and you probably never will. But you are alien, and you andMichael had that child." When Maria looked up, he was gone.

"I better go with him." Tess said." I'll tell the others to be here at 7:00. Bye." She turned and ranafter Nesado .

"Mommy!" the little girl said and ran to Maria and hugged her legs. Maria couldn't help but

think she looked pretty. She was going to say this to Michael, but before a word got out, Michaelcame up behind her and hugged her.

"Let's figure out the big stuff at 7:00," Michael said."Let's figure out the little stuff now."

"Okay." was all Maria could manage.

( This may have caused some confusion, I don't know, but in the first Part I said that the girl hadbrown hair, but in Part 3 I said she had really light blond hair with very dark brown streaks in it,Well to cover it up, I say, that the brown hair covered the blond. Not very likely, but hey, myfic , I say what I want. Sorry for any confusion!)

* It is 7:00pm and everyone is at Michael's apartment. The child is in Michael's room.*

"So, what is it that you three want, Michael, Maria, Tess ?" Max asked.

"Well, we just want to update you on the pod." Tess started. She stood alone while Michael andMaria had their arms around each other.

"Well, I for one don't care." Liz said.

"Yes you do Liz." Isabel said. She was nicer then she was before.

"Well, it hatched." Tess said.

"Then I'm taking it." Max said.

"No you're not!" Maria and Michael said at the same time. "Max, you have no right to take her,"Michael said. "And, if you would have waited, I would be telling you this not hating you asmuch as I did. But, too late!"

"Tell me what?"

"That the child is me and Maria's." Max, shocked, was openly staring at Michael and Maria. Liz,on the other hand, had her mouth hanging out and staring.

"And for the cherry," Maria said," I'm an alien!" ( severalpauses)" And... Nasedo is my father!"Isabel burst out laghing . Everyone turned to her. She was rolling on the ground now ,tears in hereyes. When she finally calmed herself, she got up with a grin on her face. "You guys are joking,right ?(no reply) "Right?!" Her smile faded and she slid into a chair. "Oh God..." she keptmuttering.

"But, Maria," Liz said, "you never... how could you be an ..."

" Okay."Mariasaid, "I can explain. When the little girl hatched, she called me Mommy andMichael Daddie . Then Michael had these flashes of life on his ..OUR planet. Then Nasedo came

and told me that he was my father. He and a woman from a different race had me. Michael waswith Isabel, but then I stole him away. He married me, left Isabel, and we had a child. Then,when Michael, Tess , Isabel ,and Max were leaving, Nesadeo talked me into leaving a differentway. He, like, transported me into my grandmother's body, then when she had my mom, I waspassed onto her. And then, I was born. "

"Wait," Max said, "Why weren't you in the pods?"

"Because practically the whole race hated me for being with Michael.They probably would havekilled me. So, I guess, I'm technically an alien. And Max, you're NOT taking her away from me."

"I'm sorry, Maria, for tring to take you child. And Michael-"

" No!"Michaelyelled," I DO NOT want your apoligies ! There are no good anymore Maxwell!"Michael said, breaking away from Maria.

"Fine don't," he didn't say anything after that. After awile of uncomfortable silence, Tess , Max,and Isabel leave. Lix stays.

"So..." Liz says.

"So."

"So, um what did you guys name her?"

"Well, we're still deciding. Right now, it's between Anna Maria, Lillian, Judy."

"It's not going to be Judy!" Michael said.

"And why not?"

"It's a fat girls name."

"Fat?Liz, can you tell me, was Judy Garland fat, Judy Holiday, Judy Blume ?"

"Give it up, it's not Judy." Liz looks at her watch."I should go", she says. Then she leaves.

Maria walked in her house. She was going to tell her mother about the child and her alieness .But she didn't know how her mother would react. Her mother was always a little off, but shedidn't think her mother would belive she was an alien. So, she decided to tell her about the childfirst. Michael had said she was about 5 years old. "Mom?" she yelled.

"Hi, Maria."Amy called from the kitchen.

"Mom, I need to talk to you."

"About what?"

"About me and Michael and-"

"Oh, no.There will not be any talk of that vile dog in this house."

"But Mom, what if it was important?"

"HE is NOT important."

"What if it involved a child?"

"Maria?"

"Mom?"

"Did you just say 'child'?"

"Yes, Mother, I did."

"Oh no!You're pregnant!"

"No Mom, I'm not!"

"Yes you are! Yes you are!"

"No Mom, I'm not."

"YES YOU ARE!"

"Mother, just listen-"

"No Maria, you listen to me. If you have that baby, you are out of this house!"

"Too late."

"Pardon me?"

"I said too late. I already have the child. Not baby. Child."

"You're out!"

"What?"

"You have a baby, and you've been lying to me all this time? Explain."

"Okay, Mom, I know you're not going to belive this, but I'm an alien. There's this guy namedNesado , and he's my father. He's an alien too and I'm really not you're daughter."

"Oh, so now you're not my daughter? First, you make up stories about you being an alien andthen I'm not your mother? Oh, thats rich!"

"Mom!Can this not be about you for one second?"

"About me, Maria, I forbid you to see that boy ever again!"

"You can't forbid me Amy!"

"To you I'm mother and I am forbiding you!" she stepped closer to Maria and Mraia backedaway and made a mental trip wire in her mind. When Amy stepped over it, she fell and made anasty fall. Maria turned to leave. "You walk out that door you never come back Maria!" Amyyelled. She started running, and thought, 'God I'm glad she tripped.' Not realizing the trip wire

she made had worked. Instead of taking the Jetta , she ran all the way to Michael's house. Butwhat she didn't tell her mom, is that she and Michael and her had decided to move in together.For good.

Maria has been at Michael's for awhile now, but hasn't told him what happened. The little girlfell asleep from running around so much. Right now they were desiding names.

"Bette." Maria said.

"Fat."Michael said.

"Lulu."

"Fat."

"Pearl."

"Fat."

"Is there any name that is not a fat girl's name?"

"Yes. Scarlett ."

"No!"

"Why not?"

"Michael, the only reason you came up with that name is because of the Clue game over there."She pointed to the Clue game.

"Fine.Brooke."

"Too snotty.And Maria, you never did tell me how it went over at your house."

"Let's just not talk about it."

"Okay."

"Rosanna."

"Overweight."

"Belle."

"No."

"Fine, Michael, do you have any suggestions?"

"Yes.Aurora ." Maria, is obviously shocked that Michael could come up with such a beautifulname.

"Okay."

"Aurora it is then." Seconds after Michael said that, Amy DeLuca kicked open the door. Shewas out of breath, so you can tell she was trying to get in before that.

"I have come to take my DAUGHTER!!" Amy yells.

Ms.Deluca ?"Michael asked cautiously.

"Don't talk to me!" Amy yelled. She then focused her attention to Maria. "You are going homewith me young lady!"

"No, Amy, I'm not!"

"Maria, I don't care that you think because you have a child that I am not your mother! You are17, not old enough to live out of my house without permission from me!"

"She's not your daughter." Michael said slowly.

"Excuse me?" She pointed to Michael."You have no right to talk to me. Maria, come, on lets gohome." Maria didn't budge. "Maria!" At the same moment, littleAurora came out of the bedroomrubbing her eyes.

"Mommy?" she said. She was wearing Michael's Metallica shirt and his sweat pants, which wererolled up. Michael ran up to her. "Come onAurora , go back in the bedroom."

"Okay." She ran back into the bedroom.

"So," Amy said, " that'swhat she wears? A dirty shirt and sweat pants? I should have know .Does she have lice, too?"

"Mom, thats just her sleep clothes." She lied.

"Then show me her day clothes."

"Okay," Maria said. Not knowing what she was doing, she went into the bathroom and pickedup a towel. She closed her eyes and wished it was a yellow sundress with blue sun flowers.When she opened her eyes, it wasn't a towel anymore. It was a yellow sundress with blueflowers. She stared at it in awe, not knowing what happened. Then she heard her mother yell

"Come on Maria!" She walked out of the bathroom and shoved the dress at her mother, who heldit up. Michael just stared at the dress, knowing that wasn't in the bathroom before.

"Happy now?"Michael said.

"But........." Amy started.

"No!" Maria yelled."Mom , I want you out of this apartment right now! I'll be by the house laterto get my stuff."

"Get your stuff Maria-" Amy said.

"She said get out!" Michael yelled.

"Fine Maria.I ,Iguess I'll see you later." She stared at the sundress once more and then droppedit. She turned around and left.

"Well," Maria said," I guess you know how it went last time."

"Maria, how did you do that?"

"I don't know. But I think we need to get to Nasedo . And I bet if we broughtAurora he'll tell usall we want."

Michael and Maria walked in the sliding doors of Walmart . They decidedAurora needed clothesbefore they went to see Nesado . Thay had tried the sundress, but it turned right back into thetowel. Tess had come over to babysit . The walked down the girls section hand in hand. Mariaheld up a pair of Pooh overhauls. Michael shook his head.

"How about this?"Michael held up a really fancy dress.

"She's not going to Christmas dinner, Michael."

"Then how about this?" He held up a purple tie die tank top and then a pair of rhinestone jeans.

"I had no idea you had such a wonderful taste in fashion." Maria said as she grabbed the clothesand ran.

"Hey, wait up!" Michael said as he ran. Maria looked back and saw that he was gaining on her.Within three minites , she felt him come up behind her and then he hugged her waist whileswinging her up in the air.

" Eeek!" she yelled. He put her down and said "You know ,this might work out after all."

Right after he said that, five men in black suits entered the department. "That's them!" oneyelled. They started running towards them.

Both Michael and Maria turned and ran as fast as they could to they're waiting cab, stillclutching the clothes. The alarm went off, but they made it just in time.

"Go to the 86 Street Apartment Building !! Now!" Then the cab sped off.

When they got back, Tess had just hung up the phone. "That was Nesado ." Tess said," He toldme the government knows aboutAurora ."

"Where is she?" Michael said. He was clutching the clothes like no tomorrow and Maria finallypried them out of his grasp.

"What do we do?" Maria asked.

" Nesadosaid you have to leave."

"Leave?" Maria said.

"Maria, you go pack up the stuff in the bedroom." Michael said, taking the clothes from Maria."I'll go dressAurora ."

Michael, Maria, and Aurora were now driving in a rentedToyota down highway 568 North.They had stopped at Maria's house before they left to get some of her things, some personalitems, and some of her older clothes forAurora .

There was a silence in the car. But Maria didn't mind. They had been driving for hours, and assoon asAurora settled down and fell asleep in Maria lap, they had talked. About everything.AboutAurora , about the FBI, about Maria being an alein , and about what they were going to doonce they decided where to live.

They had decided that they would move to a quiet town outside ofNew Mexico . Like in Kanas .Home of the Wizard of Oz. Aurora would like that.

They also talked about Max. They figured Liz was acting so rude because of Max. They didn'tknow why Max was acting so hostile towards Michael, but they did know that Liz would do

anything for Max. Even if it meant giving up Maria as a best friend. They even talked aboutmarrige . They decided when the time was right they were going to get married.

Maria had no idea why Michael was being so open with her, because like he said, he was a brickwall. But Maria figured part of it. Michael had always thought he would hurt Maria because shewas a human. But now, when they know they were both aliens, Michael felt less insecure.

Even more tired from her thoughts, Maria placed her head on Michael's shoulder and fell asleep.

"Maria, wake up." Michael said softly to Maria.

She had been asleep for hours. They had been traveling on highway 25 North for the past fourhours, and Maria had been asleep the whole time. Now they were inCanon City , Colorodo .

Maria stirred, but didn't wake up. He looked outside of the car. They were at a Motel 6,andAurora was running around in the bushes, amazed by them.

"Maria?" he then shook her.

"What what what ?" she yelled.

"Hey, don't yell at me, Maria. I've been trying to wake you for the past ten minutes. Now comeon, we're at a hotel."

"My legs don't work."

"Yes they do, Maria, now come on.Aurora is waiting."

"They don't work, Michael. My legs fell asleep before I fell asleep. They are still asleep."

"Just, shake them or something then."

"Well, Michael, they just don't wake up."

"Yes, they do."

"Michael, I feel like I'm paralized ."

"God!"Michael got out of the car, muttering something about ditzy blonds, and opened the dooron Maria's side. He put one hand under her knee, the other around her shoulders and swoopedher out of the car.

"Well," Maria said," most guys buy me a drink first."

"I know, they told me. Told me all I had to do was by you a drink and you'd be mine for thewhole night. Maybe even the whole morning. Now I can tell them they don't have to waste the

money. All they have to do is ask."

Maria was disgusted by him, and she started hitting him until he knelt down and put her on theground. She tried to get up, but her legs failed and she fell to the ground. Michael was already inthe hotel room, and did not see her failed attempt to get off the ground.

OnceAurora was inside, he came back up in the middle of her next attempt to get up. She didn'tknow he was there until she heard him laughing hysterically.

"Michael! Shut up!" He continued laughing. "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!"

He calmed his laughter. " Whoo!" he said. "You looked like a fallen cow with no legs!"

"Michael, can you please help me?"

" Whatsthe magic word?"

"Now?"

"Nope. Last chance."

"Please?"

"Okay." He walked over and picked her up again, heading to they're hotel room. He opened thedoor, andAurora was sitting on her bed. Michael sat Maria down on they're bed and said," I'mgoing to get the suitcases." He left.

Aurora turned to Maria. "Mommy, why was daddy carrying you?"

"Because I asked him to."

"Oh."

"Hey, how about I give you a bath? You look pretty dirty from playing in the bushes."

"Okay."

"And, I have some of my old clothes from when I was your age. You can use them."

"Really?"Aurora 's eyes widened. She seemed to be fasinated with everything that had to dowith Michael or Maria.

"Sure. Alright, you wait here, I'm going to go get the water running." She left the room and wentin the joined bathroom and turned the bathwater on, turning the knobs to make it warm. She wentback in the room, to see Michael putting down the suitcases.

"What were you doing?" Michael asked.

"I'm gonna giveAurora a bath."

"Okay. I'm gonna get some food out of the vending machines." He got some money from Maria,then went to get food.

She helpedAurora take off her clothes, then led her into the bathroom and turned off the water.She helpedAurora in, and proceded to give her a bath. Her shirt was getting soaked so she tookoff her shirt and locked the door in case Michael tried to get in. She thought it would be sooooembaressing if he walked in on her with no shirt and just a bra.

When she was washingAurora 's hair,Aurora threw a washcloth at the door. She turned aroundto get it, and when she picked up the washcloth the door swung open and Michael just stoodthere, stuck in place! "Oh My God!" she screamed.

" I ,I'm, Oh God sorry." Michael said as he turned around.

Maria grabbed a towl and wrapped it around herself. "I... I... I just wanted to know if youwanted a Kit-Kat bar or gummy bears."

"Gummy bears would be fine."

"Okay." he shut the door. Maria turned back toAurora .

"Come on, lets get you out of there." she said, not knowing if she wanted to leave the bathroomanytime soon.

"Maria," Michael asked from outside the bathroom door, "are you going to come out?Aurora isasking for you."

"Um, yeah, I'm just drying my hair," she lied.

'What a lame excuse.' Maria thought to herself. The real reason she wasn't coming out wasbecause of the little accident earlier. 'How was Michael supposed to know I had no shirt on? Ishould have at least put something on I wouldn't mind getting wet.'

She took a washcloth and started scrubbing the bathtub. 'But, he shouldn't have unlocked thedoor with his powers.' She put the washcloth down.

"Well," she said outloud."I have to go out there sometime. May as well be now." She put on her

shirt (she dried it with the blowdryer ), unlocked the door, and stepped back into the main room.

Michael was watching T.V,Aurora was on his lap watching with him. "The gummy bears areover there." he said, pointed to the nightstand. He looked her in the eye.

'How can he do that!?'Maria thought as she went to the nightstand, unwrapped the gummy bearsand sat on the bed, eating them. 'How can he look me in the eye even though he saw me top-less?How can he even be close to looking me in the eye?'

Michael didn't seem to be freaking out like she was. He didn't even seem to mind. 'This is tooweird' she thought. 'I can play at this game.' She walked over and sat down next to him.

He flinched when she touched him. 'Finally!' she thought. 'He feels weird too! Wait, why am Ihappy about this?' she asked herself.

"Wyoming ?" Maria said. "We are going to live inWyoming ?" they were once again travelling

down a highway.

Michael had decided that the were going to move toRawlins ,Wyoming . "Yes," Michael said."We're going toLoveland , here in Colorodo , and then toWyoming . Is there a problem withthat?"

"Yes. Rawlins is a small town. I don't want to live in a small town. I want to live inNew York orsomething, a big city."

"Does your mother know this?"

"Yeah, I mean, she knows I've always wanted to live in a big city."

" Thatsmy point. If they interview your mother, she will tell them that. They would go to theobvious places, Maria, they would never thinkWyoming ."

Maria pouted.

'I Disappear' by Metallica came on the radio, andAurora started singing it.

"Because, I can accept it.I can also accept that you are an alien, and Nesado is your father. In

"Here I go now," Aurora and Michael sang together.

"Hey, hey, hey, NO mercy, ain't no mercy left for me. " they were all singing together. "And Iwent, and I went on down that road. And I went on down that road." They kept singing until thesong was over, with normal families looking strangely at them from their cars.

*It is the next morning, they are out ofLoveland and driving to Rawlins*

Maria was now driving and Michael was snoring really loud. Once,Aurora plugged Michael'snose so he would stop, but her arm soon got tired and she had to stop.

Maria knew that Michael wasn't getting much sleep, because if she woke up in the middle of thenight, he was still in the same postion , facing the ceiling. She knew what he was doing. He wastrying to stay awake so that if someone came after them he would be ready to attack. Shepersonally thought no one was coming after them. They were long out ofRoswell .

Michael made a snort, and Aurora and Maria laughed. For the first time, Maria thought thateverything was gonna be ok.

They arrived in Rawlins several hours later. Michael had woken up, andAurora told him he wasa pig. He was insulted, until Maria explained later.

>FromLoveland , Michael had called a newspaper and got local adds for houses in Rawlins. Hesaid that he wasn't going to live in a apartment anymore. Not withAurora . Her and Michael hadenough money to make a few payments on the house, without jobs. They were outside the housenow, moving in there stuff. The house had red bricks, but stones around the door. The doorneeded to be replaced, and the fence needed to be taken out.

Maria would not have a metal fence in her yard. She wanted a white picket fence.

Everything looked okay inside, and Michael seemed to like it. The neighborhood was nice. Thiswould be a good place forAurora to grow up. She decided she would lie about her age. Shewould be a few years older then 17. It would sound way to weird if she said to she neighboors ,Oh, I'm 17 and this is my daughter, she's 5.

Michael must have read her mind, because he said, "How about you be 22, and me 23?"

"That seems alright. But how aboutAurora 's birthday?" Michael thought for awhile. She could

"Make it August, and you've got a deal."

"You got it." Michael grabbed their very little amount of bags, Maria grabedAurora by the hand,

and the family walked in their new apartmant together, withAurora humming Metallica thewhole way.

"Aurora !" Maria yelled up the stairs, "Get down here this instant! Your Dad is leaving for workand he is giving you a ride to school!"

"Aurora !" she yelled once again. Then, a ten year oldAurora came running down the stairs."Okay, okay, I'm going!" She ran out the door yelling: "Bye Mom!"

Once Michael and Aurora were long gone, Maria sat down on the couch. Michael and her had adeal. She would clean and he would cook and go grocery shopping. Which basically meant, thatMichael didn't want her cooking food. But, she wasn't the cleaning type, so she always put it offuntill later.

'Now to reflect.' she thought. she always did this, every morning, to fill herself with enoughhappiness to get up and clean. Well, after she and Michael moved here, they putAurora in aschool called Willis France. She was in the fourth grade, and was very smart. At the beginning ofthe school year, she was in third grade. But, they brought her up to fourth after her first reportcard came.

Michael, during that time, worked at a car garage, while Maria worked at a library. But that hadsoon changed. Michael started collage, and was now a photographer for Rolling Stonesmagazine. Maria, on Mondays and Wedsndays , worked at a cute little magic shop called TheEarth's Core. No, Michael and Maria were not married yet. Maria often thought about this. Shewanted to get married right after Michael got the job at Rolling Stones, but she rememberd whatMichael had said. Not until the time is right.

So she waited. And waited. But a proposal never came. It didn't bother her as much anymore

She walked about a block, when she saw that someone was moving in. A small woman withpurple and blond hair was trying to push a heavy chair up a ramp to the house. When Mariawalked up, she said "Need some help?" the small woman looked up, and to Maria's eyes, it

was............ Tess!

"Sure" the woman said. "Um, let me get that end." She didn't seem to noticed Maria, and evenlooked as though she didn't know who Maria was.

"I'm Ava ," she said.

Then she knew, that this was not Tess . "Um, do you know anyone named Tess ?" she asked.

Avadropped her side of the chair.

"Do you?" Ava asked

"I asked you."

"Maybe."

"Are you Tess ?"

"No."

"Then who are you? You look just like her."

"Come withme. " she said as she walked in the house. Maria followed. The house was filled upwith old furniture. " Zan!" Ava yelled downstairs.

"What?"

"Come up here please!" Then, Zan was standing right in front of her, and he looked just likeMax.

" Mariannaie?" he said.

"Maria."

"You look the same."

"What are you talking about? How is it you two look like Tess and Max?"

"Call your husband. Michael, is it?"

"Okay." she reached for the phone and dialed Michael's number.

"Rolling Stone."Michael's voice said from the other line.

"Michael?"

"Maria?"

"Hi."

"Hey. Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, but I think you should come home. Well not home, a block from home."

"Why?"

"Because... there are people here who look like Max and Tess , except... it's not them."

Michael was at Ava and Zan's house within ten minites of Maria's call. Ava and Zan hadexplained that they were what they were told to be. Twins. Dupes. They were cloned from theMichael, Tess , Max, and Isabel inRoswell . They had somehow recieved a signalfromRawlins ,Wyoming a month ago and Zan and Ava decided to go to it.

The two others, Loni and Rath , stayed behind. Unlike Zan and Ava , Loni and Rath thought thatMichael and Maria's love was what started the war. But if that were the case, the war would stillbe going on, in which it wasn't. Apparently, when both sides got heard that Michael and MarialeftRoswell to be together, it showed both sides that it was in fact true love. With a lot ofcomprimising , they ended the war.

"Do you know set off the signal?" Maria asked.

"Well, you told me thatAurora is ten, and doesn't know about her powers. Because of her uniquegenes, she probably set of the signal without even knowing it," Zan said.

"Do you thinkRoswell got catch of the signal?" Michael asked.

"Most likely." Avasaid "Since you left, I have been getting many reports from this man... whatwas his name?"

" Nesado."Michael and Maria said at the same time.

"Oh yes, that was it. Well, he has been telling me that they have been looking for you. They

even know the names of the hotels you slept in. But I'm surprised they haven't found you yet. Imean, Michael, you are working for a world famous magazine."

Michael thought about that. Maria could tell he was deciding (if they came) what rooms to putthem in. Maria turned her attention to Ava and Zan .

"Okay, no offense here, but if you guys want to live here, you are going to have to lose theNewYork look."

"Yeah," Michael said "When you guys moved here, you didn't know what you were gettingyourselves into. This is a very... weird town. Zan , I can lend you some of my clothes until youget your own and Maria can lend Ava some."

"And, "Maria went on,"you guys will have to get rid of that hair. I could re-dye Ava's hair to awell, more normal color, and Zan , all you have to do is put the spikes down. But, just to be safe,we should color your hair too."

"Do we really have to do this, to fit in?" Zan asked.

"You moved into on of the smallest parts of Rawlins. We have very weird neighbors, who arevery friendly, but can be annoying. So, yes, you have to do all that just to fit in." said Michael."These people think this part of Rawlins is their very own little town."

"Well, alright." Ava said "Do me over."

By the time Michael and Maria were done with Ava and Zan , they looked like different people.Ava now had light brown hair, cut short above the chin, with manila colored over hauls, a tantank top, no lip or eyebrow piercings , but instead of a silver stud in her nose, she had pink fakediamond. Zan , had sandy blond hair, a surf shop shirt, long tan shorts, no chin hair, and nopiercings . They looked like a normal couple.

"Well," Ava said "better get home, before Zachary gets home. But thank you, this is so ...weird."

" WhosZachary?" Maria asked.

" Thatsour son. Maybe they can play sometime."

"Maybe," Michael said. And before another word was spoken, the door flung open and therestood Max, Liz, and Isabel. Clearly out of breath.

Michael turned toward Maria and slipped a ring on her wedding finger.

"Marry me?" he said.

Maria was speechless. Before she could answer, Max lunged at Michael.

Michael stuck out his hand and a invisible shield went before him, and Max wasn't able to get tohim. Liz was looking at Zan . She looked like she was in love.

"I've had a lot of time to work on my powers Maxwell," Michael said, "and if you don't want toget hurt, I suggest you step back."

Max stepped back. That was the first time she had ever seen Max afraid of Michael. Eventhough Max stepped back, Michael still kept the shield up.

"So why'd you leave Michael? The girl died in the first night and didn't want to take the blame?HUH?"

Liz came out of her trance and grabbed Max's shoulder. "Stop Max," she said softly.

" Zan, Ava , I think that the kids bus just turned the corner so..." Maria said. Six pair of eyesturned to Zan and Ava for the first time.

"No, no, no," Michael said ." Auroais coming home soon and has that sleepover thing, so youhave to leave. And before you say no Max, just think about this: Michael is a guy who used to beangry but controlled his anger just to get advanced powers, so what do you think would happen ifMichael got angry again?"

"Liz, you could stay..." Maria said, but instantly regreted it.

But Maria was surprised. "Okay." Liz said, and went into the kitchen.

"We are coming here tomorrow Michael," Isabel said as she came up and hugged Michael."Take care."

And with that, Isabel left, leaving Michael and Maria alone. Michael got on one knee, whichsurprised Maria beond belief, and held the ring he put on her finger. She noticed his hands wereshaking.

'Was Michael......nervous?' she thought ' Ishe worried I won't accept? That I don't love him?Doesn't he know that I have been waiting so long for this?'

And before another word was said, another thought thought up, she kissed him long and hardand said "Yes."

Aurora arrived home several minutes later. The look on Liz's face was unforgetable when shesawAurora .

Aurora walked up to Maria and said, "Mom? Who's that?"

"That," Maria said as she walkedAurora up to Liz, "is your Aunt Liz."

"Y-Yeah, I am," Liz said.Aurora ran closer to Liz and hugged her.

"I've never met one of my relatives before!" she said, and she and Liz laughed. It was like they

had known each other before.

"Um, Aurora ,"Maria said, "Why don't you go get the stuff ready for your sleepover. "

"Okay."Aurora ran upstairs, turning around at the top of the stairs and smiling down at Liz.Maria grabbed Liz's wrist and dragged her into the living room.

"Tell me everything that has happened." Liz told Maria that back inRoswell , Tess and Alexbecame like sister and brother. Tess had grown out of her little crush on Max, and had a recordof being married 6 times. She was now engaged to some guy named Danny.

Isabel was in a relationship that started right after Maria and Michael left. She was really sadand depressed after they left, and this Conner was the only who could keep her happy.

Liz and Max got married when they both turned 20, and it had been good for awhile but Liz saidthat ever since Liz's 23rd birthday, something changed.

"It's like he's not the same person Maria," Liz said. "I thought that it was something that wouldjust blow-over, like a phase. But I... Maria, he thinks I'm cheating on him."

"WHAT?" Maria said, "How could he think that?"

"I don't know. On my 23rd birthday, Tess got this stripper at the party. He started groping me,you know, like strippers do. And Max got so jealous. He put the stripper in the hostipal . Eversince then, he's just been real over-protective. And then, last weekend, he accused me of cheatingon him." Liz started crying. "And Maria, I just don't know what to do!" Liz was sobbing now. "Ihate the way things are now. It's like Roseanne! You know, that show with the big people? Likeafter they won the lotto their marrige went downhill."

"Liz, the only way I think you can solve these problems is to talk with Max about it. If youdon't, then it will be like this forever."

"I just don't want to make him mad, Maria."

"Liz, you need to talk to Max about this."

Michael stepped in the doorway.

"Okay Liz," Maria said, "tell me where your hotel is and I'll drive you."

"I can drive her!" Michael said from the doorway.

"Maria, think. There are six 10 year old girls on their way here. Please let me drive her. Please!"Michael begged, and Liz and Maria laughed.

"Okay." Maria and Liz got up, hugged, and Liz soon left with Michael.

Soon after Michael got home, 5 of the six girls arrived. Ava and Zan also showed up withthey're son, Zach.

" Zan!'Michael said as soon as he saw him. "Save me from the parading 10 year olds!" Michaeland Zan laughed and went out on the porch.Aurora was playing with Zach and the five othergirls.

When the doorbell rang again, it was Liz, in tears, and with an over-night bag.

"Liz, what happened?" Maria said, walking Liz up to the spare room.

"I, I tried to talk to Max, just like you said, but, but he got all mad and... oh! I don't want to talkabout it."

"It's okay Liz. Stay here. I'm going to go get you some clean towels."

When Maria returned, Liz was talking to Zan . Maria just went downstairs, and thought 'maybeif Liz talks to a Max clone, she will feel better about everything.'

(Note: I know that I did not say what happened to Alex. It will soon came up.)

"Well," Maria said as she walked into her and Michael's bedroom, "They are all finally asleep. Iswear Michael, I didn't know the girls had that much energy."

"Yeah, I know. I heard them squealing from all the way down the hall." Maria studied himclosely. He looked... different. Somewhat more... mature? No, that wasn't it. Responsible? Thatwasn't it either. More like... emotionly stable. Yes, that was it. He was definitly more emotionlystable then he had been inRoswell . She suddenly got a flash.

***FLASH****

Maria is combing her hair. She goes to the window and looks outside and sees Michael standingin the rain. She thinks she's probably hallucinating so she takes some 'grief relief', looks up, andsees Michael still standing there. Michael walks over to her window

She says:"What are you doing out there? No, you can't come in. No. I know why you're here.All right, I know what your plan is, I know what you want, but it's not gonna work this time,mister, ok, no matter what you say. My answer is no. No, no, no, no, no."

Maria let Michael come in and he is dripping wet and shivering

MARIA:"God, you could get pneumonia. Here, take your shirt off. Hold on. You're shivering."

She wiped away a tear from Michael's cheek.

MARIA: "Come here. Shh , it's ok. You don't have to tell me, it's ok." Michael starts to cry asMaria hugged him closely.

***END OF FLASH***

When Maria opened her eyes, Michael was staring at her.

"What happened?" he asked.

"I, I got a flash. Except, Michael, it wasn't like I was just watching. It was like I was juststanding-" She suddenly got another flash.

***FLASH***

She was on another planet. She was in a chamber like room, with a sad look on her face. ThenMichael walked into the chamber, shut the door, and locked it. They stared at each other. Tearsfell down Maria's face. In two strides, Michael was by her side, wiping the tears away from herface. Just then, the real Michael was by Maria. They both looked at the couple that looked likethem kissing. They knew that this was a flash of the past life. She looked at him. He looked ather. They kissed. When they opened their eyes, They weren't in Rawlins anymore. They were inthe bodies of the Michael and Maria in the flash. When Maria finally relized this, she screamed.

"AAHHHHH!OH MY GOD MICHAEL!! WHAT THE HELL HAS HAPPENED?" shescreamed. Michael was silent. She suddenly relized why. Michael had shoulder length hair.LONG Hair. Michael screamed.

"Oh my God. Oh my God."Maria said as she paced around her chamber.

Michael was sitting on the bed, his hands on his forhead . Maria and Michael had changed inmany ways. Maria now had hair down to her shins, that was still blond, in a long braid. Herclothes were so weird, Maria couldn't believe it. She had on this long, red, bushy skirt, with a redslik aprin sorta thing over it. She knew it wasn't and apron, because it had rubies strewn alongthe edges, and a weird sorta symbol in the center. She had a mid-drift tank-top on, that also therubies strung at the bottom. She had a black belly button ring.

Michael, on the other hand, looked even weirder. His hair was long and tied into a low ponytailat the neck. He had this green silk shirt with a badge on it. There was also a symbol there but itwas different. He had these black leather pants on, and green leather boots.

Someone walked into the room. Maria looked at her. It was Isabel. Or, at least she thought itwas Isabel. This version of Isabel had a tube top on with a bushy skirt like Maria's, but her's wasblue. She had a apron thing too, and the same symbol on her tube top as Michael's. She had darkred hair. She looked surprised when she saw Michael there.

" Rathard, what are you doing here?" she said. Her voice was just a little higher. Michael lookedup.

"Huh?" he said "Isabel? Is that you?"

"Isabel?" she said,"Who is that? I do suppose I look like an Isabel but no, it's me, Vilandra ."

" Vilandra?" he snuck a glance at Maria. She gave him a look that said 'play along with herMichael, we are on a different planet'.

"Oh, yes," he said "Um, what are you doing here?"

"Well, I came looking for you. Zanere and Avandrea are waiting for us. Dinner."

"Well. I guess we should go then," he said.

"I'll meet you in the garden at the table."

"Okay," he said, but Maria knew he was just going to wait outside the door, because he didn'teven know where the garden was. He walked out the door. Vilandra walked up to Maria andslapped her. Hard.

"You should have known to stay away from him, Marena ."

"What?" Maria said, holding her red cheek.

"Stay away from Rathard . He is my husband you slut." she slapped her again. Maria stood up.

"How am I the slut?" Maria screamed.

"You slept with my husband. You tried to have what wasn't yours!" Maria was steaming mad.

"Well aparently he needed something you couldn't give him!" Maria had no idea what she wastalking about, for she didn't even know what was going on. But Maria had never been the one tojust stand by while someone called her a name.

Isabel stared into her eyes. Maria was not in the mood to have a staring contest, that was forsure. She sat on her bed, only to have Vilandra grab her arm and pull her up again.

"Stay. Away. From. Rathard ." she slapped her once again, harder then before, sending Maria tothe floor crying and gasping for breath. She looked at the door briefly, and saw Michael looking

Vilandrakicked Maria in the gut.

" Ohhhh Ohhh Ohh!" Maria moaned.

"This is my last warning, Marena . Stay away from Rathard ." With that, she turned around andwalked out the door.

'So my name is Marena ,' Maria thought. 'Michael is Rathard and I suppose that Max is Zanereand Avandrea is Tess . And Isabel was that bitch that just walked out. Vilandra . That is such anevil name.' Maria stood up steadly , her gut aching. She lay down on her bed, and started to cry.Maria, or Marena , or whatever her name was, had never felt so alone in her life.

This land was beautiful. The sun was purple, and there were orange clouds that glowed. Thelights outside were this planets version of birds. Exotic flowers grew everywhere, some moving,

some not. The air smelled good - she couldn't put her finger on the smell - and was like a lightmist.

Maria was remembering more and more about this life. She could remember almost everythingnow. She remembered the past experiances with her friends, her family, and she rememberedNesado . She could not remember everything about this ball, but she knew that it was an honor tobe invited. She remebered everything about Michael. The kisses, the talks... everything.

Everything Kikia had said about them was true. She loved Leonid more than Earth.

'So many roots' she thought. The ball was tonight. Kikia tapped her on the shoulder.

"There's your lover-man." she said, and pointed to Michael. Maria's breath almost caught in herthroght . On this planet, he seemed much more... sexy... dangerous... irresistable .

" Rath!" Kikiacalled out.

He turned around and smiled when he saw Maria. They both walked over to him.

"Hello," he said.

"Hi," Maria said.

"Well I'm going to go see Shonner ." Kikia said, giving Maria a wink and turning around,walking in the opposite direction of them.

Michael grabbed her and kissed hard on the lips. The sensations she felt... it was like all the cellsin her body and all the cells in his were conecting and heating up. When he finally came up forair, he said, his words coming in pants "I remember. Everything. I feel how I felt. Maria I need tofeel that way again."

No, Michael and Maria did not 'do the nasty', as Kikia had said. The cleaning staff had arrived,so they had to leave. Maria and Kikia were in Maria's 'room/dungeon (as Maria called it)' andgetting on their ball dresses. Kikia dressed different from everyone.

Every woman she saw had a long skirt and with either a symbol on her shirt or skirt. But Kikiadidn't have one. To the ball, she was wearing a yellow silk tank-top and a pale yellow short skirt.It really brought out the purple in her eyes. She also had on this strange diamond neckless , orwhatever kind of stone it was, and a tiarra . Her dark curly hair was strait now, up in a loose bunat the back of her hair. Maria looked... different. When she let her hair down from the braid, her

hair got longer. And when she shook it out, it turned even blonder. She had on a black dress. Itwas really poofy at the bottom, but it got tighter from her middle stomach up. It had spaghettistraps at the top, and again, had little rubies along the edges of everything. She wore black spikedheels. She had a choker of black beads. And in her hair, a little clip to pin it back. 'Michael isgoing to go CRAZY!' she thought.

"Gosh," Kikia said, " I really hope Shonner likes this." Then a look came over her face that said,'I should not have said that.'

"You like Shonner ?" Maria hadn't ever EVEN SEEN him, but she had memories.

"Well, a little. So, what do you think he'll think?"

"I honestly don't know. I don't think I've ever sat having a cup o' joe with him and talked about itwith him."

"Well, all I want is one dance."

They arrived, and Michael, as predicted, was being led around by Vilandra . She took specialcare that he did NOT see her. Kikia grabedher arm.

"There he is." She pointed to Shonner , and Maria gasped. He looked like Alex. Like, identical.

"Man, isn't he gorgeous? I feel lucky for that human clone they are making of him."

"They are making a human clone?"

"Yeah.They are trying this new experiment. They are trying to make a human clone of Shonner .You know, some organs of humans, blood, everything. You know, except his face. It's going tostay Shonner's . Don't tell him I told you this, but they even found a way to get the clone into a

"Hello Ladies," he said.

"Hi," they both said. Maria snuck a glance at Michael. His back was turned from her. This was

her chance. She exused herself. and quitetly walked towards him. Then she was right behindhim. She went off to his side and ' accidently' bumped into him.

"Oh, sorry," he said, not looking at her.

" Thatsokay." As soon as he heard her voice, he looked at her. She gave him the best smile shehad in her, and walked away. She could feel his eyes on her as she left.

'I am so good.' she thought as she walked away. Someone turned her around and started dancingwith her. Michael.

"Why, hello, Michael," she said.

"You look beautiful."

"Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself. I can see that Vilandra has you under her grasp."

"She's just showing me around."

"I know. ( pause) "Guess what I just found out. Alex, you know, Earth Alex, is a clone of thisplanet's Shonner ."

"Wow."

"I know."

"I hate this Maria."

"Hate what?"

"Hate being on this planet.I hate re-living everything that happened. If that's even what we'redoing."

His face got closer to Maria's. "I hate... I hate knowing what's going to happen. Knowing thatsomething bad is going to happen tonight."

"What? Something bad is going to happen?"

"Maria, I've been getting this feeling, this feeling that all the answers we need are going to fallinto our laps. But Maria, I can tell I don't want them. I just hate the feeling. I hate this planet,with no known way to get back to Earth. I can't stand it. I mean, how am I keeping sane? How

Before hecould say another word, a bomb dropped through the ceiling. Maria saw it all, all the peoplelaying on the ground, dead. But the only thing her eyes were focused on, was the dead andlifeless body of Shonner , with Kikia over him, crying. And the first time since she was on that

planet, she rememberd Shonner . Rememberd everything.

HOURS LATER.......

Maria was on the floor, crying her eyes out. It had been hours since the bombing, and she wasstill crying. The door opened, and Michael stepped in. He saw her crying, went over to her, andkissed her. 'Wait a minite ,' she thought, 'this... this is the scene from the vision I had before Icame here.'

" Rathard, join me in the garden."Vilandra said. Michael hit Vilandra . In the face. Hard.

"I am not going anywhere with you. You're dead." He stuck his hand out again, but he didn't hitVilandra . Avandrea had run in front of the shot to save her best friend, getting killed in theprocess. Vilandra laughed.

"Now I have all the power I need to put both of you away!" she laughed and laughed, finallyturning around and exiting, still laughing. And then, all of a sudden, Avandra's body hadmorphed into Kikia'a form. And then, all was clear... Kikia was the one dead.

"We have to get out of here Michael." Maria said, pacing around Kikia's half lifeless body.Kikia was still alive, but if they did not get back to Earth (Maria was going to take Kikia withher), she would be dead.

"I know," he said.

"Then think of something! Vilandra will be back here soon, and then all THREE of us will bedead."

"I can't think if your're screaming at me!"

"I am NOT screaming!"

"God Maria!You say, ''oh Michael, think of something!''! Why don't you at least TRY to think?Or is that too big of a chore for you??"

"Michael, look at us! We're screaming at each other like an old married couple! Let's just calmdown and think."

"Yeah.Now, we should just try to think of the situation before we came here, we can get back."

"Okay, I was standing by the door..."

"No, when you got the flash, I set you down on the bed. I was standing in front of you, andwhen my hand touched your hand, I entered your flash." They got into the position Michael said.But when they're hands touched, nothing happened.

"Michael and I were sent to their planet to save this guy, Shonner , who was like, Alex's alienclone. But we couldn't, because you didn't tell me!" Maria felt a sudden anger toward Liz.

"Maria, please... let me explain..."

"You know Liz, this whole time I thought it was my fault. My fault Alex died. But I know now,its NOT my fault. It's yours." Maria stomped out of the kitchen, leaving Liz there. She walked inthe living room, and Max and Michael were talking. She sat down next to Michael.

"We need to save Kikia ," Michael was going on, "because we think that Kikia might have someconnection with Liz. And well, if Kikia dies, then Liz..."

"You guys, "Maria said, " weneed to save Kikia now. She will die soon." Max and Michaelkneeled down to Kikia and healed her. Kikia opened her eyes, looked up at Maria, and huggedher. Zan tightly embraced and kissed each other.

" Kikia!"Maria said after Kikia and Zan pulled apart.

"What is going on?" Kikia didn't even absorb the comment. She looked Zan deeply in the eyesand said: "I thought I would never see you again, Zan ."

"How could I keep away from you for long?"

"I REPEAT," Maria interuppted , " What is going on?" Zan reached in the bag on his shoulderand pulled out a huge gun.

"I repeat , "he said in a strange voice, " we are taking you under hostage."

After Zan tied Michael, Maria, Liz and Max up, he told them what was going down. He wasgoing to drive them back toRoswell , gather the rest of the aliens and humans that knew aboutthem, and send them back to Leonid in a thing called the Granalith , and then deliver them to aevil alien named Kivar . Then, the rest was in Kivar's hands. Maria didn't want to go backtoRoswell for many reasons. She didn't know how she felt about her mother. But she mostlydidn't want to go back because she and Michael had leftRoswell on a good key. Michael hadchanged a lot. He wasn't just that heartless alien who had broken Maria's heart so many timesanymore. He was like human.

Maria was afriad he would turn into that heartless alien again if they went back toRoswell .Maria was afraid that her heart couldn't take it.

It had been one month since they were kidnapped. To Maria it felt like forever. Maria laying onthe hospital bed, waiting for the doctor to give her the results. When they were kidnapped, theydrove toRoswell . In the desert really. Zan had shot and killed Ava . He later then shot Kikia . Ifkilling Ava didn't drive him crazy, killing Kikia did.

They all managed to escape safely. Michael was at Maria's home with Aurora and Amy. Liz wasat her home at the Crashdown . When Liz's parents moved to Flordia , they gave the shop to her.Max was inCalifornia on a clam study.

Maria felt tired and cheated. Right now everyone was happy and safe. But Maria couldn't sayshe felt safe. She knew something was wrong with her. But she couldn't tell what. The doctorstepped in the room and sat down in the chair next to the hospital bed.

"I found something very strange in your tests, Mrs.Gurien ." he said.

"What is it?"

"Well, your going to have a baby for one thing. But what I found strange was that well, your

baby is... well, you are five months along now and you show no signs of getting big. Big and Fat!HA HA HA !" Suddenly his face started twisting, and she screamed. She heard a voice from faraway, saying Maria, Maria, Maria . Her eyes suddenly shot open, and she was staring at hermother.

"What is going Maria?" she said. "You were screaming your lungs out."

"Mom?Wait, what is the date?"

"Well its November 29, 1999. Why?"

"It was all a dream."

"What?"

"IT WAS ALL A DREAM!!" Maria screamed as she covered her face with a pillow. The phonerang. She picked it up. It was Michael.

"Maria, this sounds weird, but you need to come to my apartnment ," he said.

"Why?"

"Because I think I found a pod."
