FSEHD Conditional Admissions Application, see Admissions Requirements for more information. Spring 2020 conditional admissions applications will be submitted via email. Spring 2020 Conditional Admissions Applications will be reviewed between December 10, 2019 and January 6, 2020.

FSEHD offers two conditional admissions pathways (RIC cumulative grade point average, GPA, and basic skills test scores). Students may apply for one or the other, not both.

Grade Point Average GPA between 2.60 and 2.749 conditional is for students applying to a community or teacher certification program, an unofficial RIC transcript must be attached to the application. Basic Skills Test Scores, range of scores conditional is for students applying to a teacher certification program. All pages of basic skills test score reports must be attached to the application. Applications will not be reviewed if scores do not fall within the range of scores. SAT scores taken before January 2016, use SAT score converter to see if scores meet the requirements.

To submit an application for a Conditional Admissions pathway, students must meet all other admissions requirements: FSEHD Requirements and Program Specific Requirements. Students should work with the appropriate education advisors to ensure all FSEHD and program specific requirements have been met. Once requirements have been verified by the advisor an application may be submitted. Please use the checklists below to work with program advisors.

FSEHD Requirements – all must be met except for either GPA or Basic skills tests

▪ 24 Credit hours ▪ RIC GPA of 2.75 ▪ Basic skills test scores ▪ Writing requirement, FYW with a grade of B or higher ▪ RIC Mathematics competency requirement ▪ Pass in the Pass/Fail FNED 101 course (may not apply to all students) ▪ Earn a B- or higher in FNED 246/346 ▪ Three disposition assessments (completed during FNED 246/346) – check with professor or

supervisor if those forms have not been submitted

Exception: the application may be submitted before final grades for the semester are posted. GPA will be recalculated once all semester grades are posted, incompletes in requirements will not be accepted.

Program Specific Requirements List all program courses (prerequisites), grades, and content GPA (if required) then paste into the application.

Applications will not be reviewed if program specific requirements have not been met. To submit your application, send an email to FSEHD@ric.edu with the following:

1. Added to the email subject line: last name: conditional application to FSEHD 2. Written in the body of your email: name of your program, a list of all FSEHD and program specific

requirements and outcomes, with the statement that you have met with your advisor and you meet all FSEHD and Program Specific Requirements except for the GPA or Test Scores. Include your advisor’s name

3. Attached to email: documents, transcript or score reports (score reports must include detailed

results/subscores/test category points, dependent on exams taken – see following pages for examples)
