My friend and I both finished vocational school the same year. He went on to do a degree at university; I went directly into employment. After finishing university, he spent 2 years looking for a job, whereas I always found a job straight away. I'm not sure if it is because I have more years of work experience, but studying has negatively affected his chances of finding a job.

I would advise someone to work immediately after vocational school, and either do an evening / weekend degree over a longer period of time, or find an employer who will sponsor you to carry on part-time with your

education. How do you feel about it?
