can you surf your wayto an academic degree?
Hardly! Research requires understanding, understanding that is both broad and deep. The University of Oslo Library takes you straight to the sources – no detours. The University Library gives you access to databases with unique opportunities for academic immersion.
Groundbreaking knowledge bankKnowledge is costly. Every year the University of Oslo spends millions to provide you with access to various sources of knowledge. Both printed and electronic publications. It is the task of the University Library to search for, collect, maintain, systematize and present the most important published research and all core learning resources.
The University Library makes new and old research accessible. Without the library there would be no research and no university.
The University of Oslo Library takes you straight to the sources, and gives you unique opportunities for academic immersion.

The University of Oslo Library makes research accessible
At the University of Oslo Library there are many different workplaces; quiet study areas, group rooms, pc spaces and more flexible workplaces.
We provide courses and guide students in finding, evaluating and using sources. The courses teach you to search effectively in order to save time in studies and research.
You can ask for assistance at the counter or online. Our goal is to make it easy for you to find what you’re looking for.
We host lectures and events in co operation with student organizations and the academic communities. And there’s always time for a break in the coffee bar.
