2014 WOW Leader Application

Week of Welcome Leader Membership:

Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the Week of Welcome Team. A Week of Welcome Leader is a volunteer member of the Office of Campus Life and the Division of Student Affairs. This position will directly report to the Office of Campus Life and its staff.

Essential Qualifications:

Establish a welcoming environment for our new students Promote the University of North Florida values Promote school spirit Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 Work cooperatively in a team environment Have a positive and enthusiastic attitude Demonstrate strong verbal communication skills Be able to show enthusiasm morning, noon, and night Must have Osprey Pride

Position Responsibilities:

Attend spring/summer training events and activities (see Time Commitment) Attend WOW Leader Retreat (see Time Commitment) Work cooperatively with Orientation Team Leaders and Resident Assistants Promote and help with WOW Registration Work on special projects Facilitate small group discussions during Week of Welcome Demonstrate UNF school spirit and serve as a positive role model to incoming students

and peers Create a welcoming environment through positive and spirited interactions with

students, parents, faculty and staff. Be knowledgeable about Week of Welcome and all its events and opportunities Participate in Week of Welcome

Membership Information:

A WOW Leader is a member of the WOW team for a full year. When Week of Welcome is not in session a WOW Leader has monthly meetings and volunteer duties through the Office of Campus Life.
