ASNA was established in 1989 to primarily provide actuarial students with resources and connections to the actuarial industry across North America.Comprises of 13 member universities from Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Quebec.Each year, a committee is elected to host the upcoming ASNA convention.

ASNA goals To inform future North American actuaries about the

rudiments of the actuarial field and to allow them to build a network of contacts with actuaries, industry and other actuarial students.

Foster an interaction among the universities in Canada. Publishing newsletters to keep the students engaged

and updated with latest actuarial news. Student liaison between SOA, CIA and CAS.

The reasons that you attend the ASNA convention1. The largest career fair for undergraduate actuarial

students in Canada.2. Networking opportunities with employers &

students.3. Seminars on both industry and non-industry topics 4. To develop your academic, personal, and

professional level.5. Case competition, professional panel, seminars,

coffee connection and networking sessions.6. Onsite interview sessions from hiring employers.

•Early-bird registration has started on October 14th.•After the early-bird registration the fees will be higher.

•Check out other accommodations options on the ASNA site as well.

•Accommodation through ASNA at the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure is ~$90/student (Quadruple occupancy).•A group of up to 4 people can share one large room.

•Approx. transportation cost is $600+

The Competition Prize will be monetary for the winning team and a featured publication in SOA magazine.

FUNDING OPTIONS 1.Mathematics and Statistics department Approx. funding available is maximum of $200 per student. 2. Students’ Union of University of Calgary Approx. funding available up to $250. Students are

personally responsible to apply ASAP before attending the conference.

3. Actuarial Students’ National Association ASNA also reimburses a certain amount back to the attendees.

Value of the sum varies every year.
