Preface: General Chair
2nd International Conference on Automatic control, Telecommunications and Signals
Welcome to ICATS2017, the 2
nd International Conference on Automatic control, Telecommunication and
Signals (ICATS’17). The International Conference on Automatic control, Telecommunication and Signals
(ICATS’17) will include tutorials, a technical program of presentations and keynote lectures covering a wide
range of topics on systems, automation, robotics and telecommunication including theory, hardware,
software, communication technologies and applications. ICATS’17 aims to provide a forum for researchers
from both academia and industry working in control systems engineering, networking and communication to
share their latest research contributions and address new challenges in the field.
We have a high program composed of about 110 papers spread over 4 invited oral sessions and 1 poster
session for two days from December 11th
to 12th, 2017. The papers originate from different countries, making
this conference the place for learning and interacting with important researchers. A total of 324 papers were
submitted, from which 110 high quality papers were finally retained (producing an acceptance rate around
33%). The conference will also include three plenary sessions given by world class speakers in emerging
areas related to the three tracks of the conference (robotics, signal processing and communications). These
experts and the title of their talks are: Professor Ahmed CHEMORI, who will speak on ‘‘Recent Advances in
Robot Control: From Challenges to Real-Time Experiments’’, Professor Adel Belouchrani , who will speak
on ‘’Blind Signal separation: Concepts, Applications and Some New Challenges’’ and El-Hadi AGGOUNE,
who will speak on ‘’Sensor Networks and Cellular Systems for Sustainable Development’’.
In closing, we would like to express our sincere appreciation for all the people who have helped to make this
conference successful. Particular thanks go to the program committee members who handled the review
process of the papers. Our special thanks go to our colleagues in the organizing committee for all the efforts
they made in ensuring the success of this event. Finally, we would like to thank our sponsors, SIDER el
Hadjar and the University of Annaba for their generous support.
