Task description

In addition to the information provided by the field and protection devices on the IEC 61850-ring, different single alarm incurr in switchgears, which cannot be processed in the IEC 61850-structure so far.

These individual alarms can be:

• Battery voltage failure • Property protection message • Temperature • etc.

Depending on the type of message, this information must be transmitted to the process control system or to other devices on the field or station level.

In addition to the transfer of these messages on the IEC 61850-ring, classic fault annunciating functions as the message processing according to defined alarm sequences, formation of collective reports or the triggering of audible signal devices should also be possible.

The system must have a high interference resistance and be able to put quickly and easily into operation to cover a large number of applications.

As international standard IEC 61850 defines the communication architecture for substation automation devices.The standard describes a general transmission protocol for the protection and control technique of electrical switchgears in medium and high-voltage technology.In addition to field and protective devices that have IEC 61850 interfaces, additional messages incurr in switchgears, which now can be easily integrated into the 61850 structures by the EES universal fault annunciator.

Solution

The reporting device uSm61850 enables the integrati-on of fault annunciators into the station control system of electrical middle and high voltage switchgears over the IEC standard.The device acquires messages by galvanic inputs, processes them with individual parameterizable alarm sequences and provides single messages and collec-tive reports over the 61850 bus.The parameterization of the fault annunciator and the configuration of the IEC 61850 interface can be easily handled via an integrated web-server - no additional software is necessary.The IEC 61850 interface supports all necessary services and functions, e.g. data sets, reporting and GOOSE (also known as Generic Object Oriented Substation Event protocol)

Prefabricated templates for the parameterization of different applications simplify the integration of the fault annunciators into the respective system.
