United Bank of India opens Central Processing Centre – Retail Hub

In its endeavour to serve the esteemed customers, United Bank of India opened today

“Central Processing Centre-Retail Hub” at Bidhan Nagar, Salt Lake City, Kolkata.

The said Retail Hub was inaugurated by Shri K.N.Behera, I.A.S., Resident Commissioner &

Managing Director W.B. Swarojgar Corporation, in the presence of Shri S.L.Bansal, Executive

Director.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Bansal mentioned that this Retail Hub would cater to the needs

of the branches of Kolkata (North) Region in processing and sanction of retail credit products.

He further mentioned that “We are in the process of setting up 26 Hubs all over the country.”

These Hubs will accelerate appraisal, sanction and disbursal of retail loans reducing thereby

response time drastically. The Hub would automate the retail lending process through LAPS –

software that collects details of every applicant and presents a detailed risk profile based on pre-

defined risk parameters.

These Retail Hubs will also help in product innovation to match the requirement of customer

segments. This new delivery channel will help in tapping of unexploited potential and increasing

the volume of business.

The role of the Hub will be Marketing/Lead generation/, processing and sanction of retail loan

Loans. The Branches linked to the Hub will be free from sanctioning retail loans, except

personal, pensioner personal loan and demand loan. They would have more time for marketing

of Bank’s products and thus the esteemed customers of the Bank would be given much more

quality time by the branch officials.

Shri Bansal further assured that the Bank is committed towards innovating more and more

customer –friendly products.
