***********During the month of January 2010, UUPLAN organized congregations all over the state of Pennsylvania to deliver 1,500 valentines to their senators and representatives in support of Senator Daylin Leachs bill, SB935 for marriage equality. The Valentines cards were all delivered during Freedom to Marry Week in Harrisburg. A month later, we effectively mobilized a campaign to stop the Senate Judiciary Committee from voting to approve a bill that would have constitutionally defined marriage between one man and one woman. It was a dynamic success thanks to our partnership with over two-dozen local groups, such as Equality PA *In May of 2010 UUPLAN led congregations throughout the state to send Green Cards to state senators and representatives. This was in response to the proposed copycat legislation that sought to replicate Arizonas SB1070. We effectively partnered with over a dozen immigrant rights groups and had three UUPLAN spokespersons speak at a rally hosted at the Constitution Center in Philadelphia. The bill never got out of committee.

*The First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia and the Lutheran Church of the Holy Communion co-host a Town Hall meeting about Health Care Reform with special guest Congressman Chaka Fattah. This event, held on Friday, September 11, 2009 was organized by Luana Goodwin and Christiane Geisler of the First Unitarian Church. During this 50-minute recording Congressman Chaka Fattah will respond to questions from area health-care professionals. *Partnership: Ministry for the Earth; blogs; educational outreach; showing of Gasland; letter solicitation; water rally in Philly; *Awaiting 501(c)3 status; confirmed our 501(c)4 status as a lobbying organization; hired, trained and now supervise Outreach Coordinator; built social networking platform; mailchimp; established UU Talk Radio program; Webinar platform; JPD, UUA.
