UNIT - E CHAPTER - 2
LESSON 1 :RESPECTING HUMANITY
whether some people are black or white, males or females,
Muslims, Jewish, or Christians, all are children of Adam.
Therefore, they are all human beings and deserve to be
respected for their humanity. Respecting and loving Allah
means that one has to appreciate his creations. Since
human beings are Allah's creation like everything else in
15
this world, we have to respect his creation. In the eyes
of Islam all human beings are equal and deserve respect.
Story of Jewish man and the Prophet: the Jewish man who
hated prophet used to throw stones at and say bad words
to him. The Prophet was very patient towards the Jewish
man. After sometime the Prophet noticed the absence of
the Jewish man. He did not come out of his house for many
days. The prophet then got worried and went to ask about
the man. He found out the man was sick and in a bad
condition. Out of kindness and respect, the Prophet went
to visit the Jewish man. After the visit the Jewish man
became humbled and embarrassed by the kindness of the
Prophet and embraced Islam.
Q.1. What is respect?
Ans: Everyone likes others to give him or her special
regard and attention. This is exactly the meaning of
respect. Respect shows that you care about people's
feelings and well being.
Q.2. Why do we need to respect other human beings?
Ans: Respecting and loving Allah means that one has to
appreciate his creations. Since human beings are Allah's
creation like everything else in this world, we have to
respect his creation.
Q.3. Which of Allah's creations is held above the rest?
Ans: Humans are the Creation of Allah held above the
rest. Allah has blessed and honored humans and made them
His best and most favored creation.
Q.4. What does the story of the Prophet and the Jewish
man teach us?
Ans: The story of the Prophet and the Jewish man teaches
us that we should be kind and respect even the people who
hate us.
UNIT - E CHAPTER - 2
LESSON 2 :RESPECTING PARENTS
Q.1. Why is it important to respect parents?
Ans: Parents go through a lot of trouble to care for and
16
raise their children from the time they are born until
they become adults. Despite all of the hard work, parents
still love and protect their children.
Q.2. Why should everyday be Mother's day and Father's
day?
Ans: In Islam, everyday is Mother's and Father's day. We
should love, respect and appreciate our parents everyday
throughout the year.
Q.3. What is the Hadeeth about being close to our
mothers?
Ans: It was narrated by Abu Hurayrah that a man came to
the Prophet and asked him, “who is most deserving of my
good friendship?” the Prophet answered, “Your Mother”.
The man asked again, “Then who?” “Your Mother”, The
Prophet replied.
Q.4. The Hadeeth in the lesson says that we should have a
close friendship with our mothers. Why is this the case?
Ans: This is because, mothers experience a lot of pain
and hardship during pregnancy and the delivery of their
children. And as a child grows up, it is the mother who
spends most of her time caring for him or her.
ال رسول هللا: أطع أباكق
Rasoolullah said: “Obey Your Father”
Healthy Habits:
Listen to them in an obedient and patient manner.
Speak to them in a soft and respectful voice.
Obey them when they tell you to do something, as long as
it is not Haram or un-Islamic.
Show your love to them through kind actions and words.
Help them around the house by washing dishes, vacuuming
etc.
Make duaa for them whether they are alive or dead.
Help your mother in the house and carry grocery bags for
her during shopping.
