Second conditional
It is used to talk about 'impossible' situations.
The second conditional uses the simple
past after if, then 'would' and verb in present
if + simple past, ...would + verb
If I had the opportunity
I would travel to NY
City.
Second conditional
If I were the Queen of England,
I would travel around the world.
I would study hard for the exam, If I
were you.
We can use 'were' instead of 'was' with 'I'
This is mostly done in formal writing.
