Car Sharing
If it is too far to walk or cycle to work, consider car sharing. By car sharing you will
have the benefit and convenience of the car, whilst reducing the costs and
alleviating associated problems with congestion and pollution.
What is Car Sharing?
Car sharing is where two or more people share a car and travel together whether
this be for commuting, business, shopping or any other journey purpose.
You don’t even need to own a car, as many drivers are happy to give a lift in
exchange for a contribution to the fuel costs of the journey.
Speak to your Travel Plan Co-ordinator
about registering your interest to car share.
Your journey to work can then be
matched with other employees or
colleagues and you can begin car sharing.
Save money on petrol and parking
Reduce the stress of the daily commute
Reduce the pressure on car parking demand
Reduce traffic congestion and pollution as there are fewer cars on the road
On average, a car-sharer can save around £900 a year through car sharing
Opportunity to meet new people
