1.1Why did you use a computer? What other systems / resources could you have used?

Different methods for presentation that could have been used are; • On paper• Whiteboard• Display board• Leaflets/ brochures • Tablets/ Phones • I could’ve presented the work on a piece of paper but it would have got ripped up,

have water spill on it or I might lose it • I could have also presented the presentation in front of the students and parents who

want to join the school but then people would get bored easily and there is a chance that I could’ve forgotten what to say

• But its better to do a display on a computer because it is easy to access and its in the right order and every one can see everything if its on a projector and you are less lightly to mess up on the computer. Computers are more reliable than writing on paper because paper could get damaged easily and if you make a mistake it isn’t erasable.

1.2 What skills did you need to learn in order to use PowerPoint?

I have learnt the basic ICT skills in primary school. I have recently developed my skills further to a more advanced level. I needed to learn how to insert videos for my presentation. I had to use custom animation, slide master and slide transitions. I also set each slide to a timer so it would move to the next slide on its own.

I should know how to use a mouse or to know what each tab does on the software. If I have basic computer skills then I would be able to add a video or a picture to my PowerPoint. Also, by having basic computer skills then I would be able to make the presentation more meaningful and less uninteresting

I would also need to know how to add slides and change fonts to make my work look put together

1.3 What resources did you need to make the presentation successful?

The resources I needed to use was good quality pictures and videos which made my PowerPoint more interesting, animations that worked which are relatable to the text and to make sure I contained truthful information and to have a neat presentation (present my work neatly and accurately). Having these in my presentation would make it interesting and eye appealingI also used time loops so the PowerPoint would naturally flow so they wouldn’t have to keep clicking for the next slide which could be annoying after a certain extent I would have needed to use the internet for more information about the different subjects

1.4What factors might have affected how well you completed the presentation? (e.g. time / attendance / knowledge of software)

• The factors could of affected my presentation would be my attendance and punctuality. I would make sure that I wouldn’t have time off or be late because if I did my PowerPoint would like incomplete from the lack of time spent on my work. Also, if I don’t have any time off I can spend more time on my work and improve it if it needs to be improved. I could also to catch up session to make sure my works complete.

• Also, what would of affected my presentation would be a lack of concentration. I mustn’t get distracted by other people so I could catch up and concentrate on my work.

1.6Why did you use PowerPoint to make your presentation? What other software was available? Why did you choose not to use them?

I used PowerPoint because it contains suitable fonts to make my presentation appear to be more formal. It also lets you add pictures which do not turn out too blurryI could have used Word Document or PublisherI did not choose Word or Publisher because it does not contain slides which helped the presentation easier to use and it is easier to access all the information. Also, word and publisher does not have the option to make your PowerPoint go on a time loop which would make my PowerPoint more like a presentationAlso, when you use Word, the picture will go out of place and ruin the presentation and in order to make the presentation go back to normal then you need to click on ‘wrap text’ then press the option ‘tight’ which is too much hassle when you can just go on PowerPoint and you can move the picture automatically.I could’ve used Prezi which is an online site in which you can make presentation's but I didn’t use this because it has privacy issues and it is a match ware mediator. A match ware mediator is a multimedia authoring tool for Windows and you would have to learn everything from scratch but with PowerPoint you already know what to do because you would’ve used this at a young age

1.7Were there any legal constraints or local constraints that changed the way you created your presentation? (e.g. copyright, file sizes)

• The tools that made my presentation appropriate would be that I used relatable animations so my presentation would not look messy, appropriate word art such as: Times New Roman or Calibri so my work would look formal and serious and appropriate sounds which go with the subjects

• I would need to use effective pictures which relates to the content or subject I am talking about

• I used animations because it makes the PowerPoint more interesting and entertaining for the target audience

• I also used hyperlink so it takes less time to get through the presentation

2.2Which tools within PowerPoint made it appropriate for your presentation?

There wasn’t any legal constraints like copyright in taking someone’s sentences in my presentation because I wrote the information in my own wordsI used pictures from the schools files in ICT and credited them at the bottom of the page in the ‘notes’ section I got the animations from the school files in ICT and I credited it in the notes section at the bottom of the page as wellI also used the schools website Smiths Wood Sports College for the information about the different subjects such as Maths, English and Science so I could get ideas of what we do in them subjects so I wouldn’t give out any false information

2.4What improvements do you think you could do to your presentation?

Some improvements that I would make on my presentation would be that I would change the amount of information I wrote on each slide because I wrote more than what I should of; We was supposed to have at least 12 slides in total but I done 24 but having more information is better than having no informationI would also add more pictures, animations and sounds which relate to the subjects to make the PowerPoint more appealing because it looks simple and blandI would also change the colour scheme so it matches with the Smith’s Wood colour scheme like black and red.

3.2What improvements do you think you could have done to improve your work rate?

The improvements that I could have made to improve my work would be to focus more on the presentation and take more time to plan it out before handI would not of let myself get too distracted by the other pupils around me as this would affect my presentationI would slow down on working on the presentation and take my time doing it as well because it seems rushedI would also research more information about the school on the school website so I do not give out false information otherwise this would make my presentation less formal
