/ $53.6 billion has been appropriated and will be allocated by the Department of Education to the Governor of each State

/ 18.2% of these funds (~$8.8 billion) will be allocated with a wide range of distribution discretion, including: Modernization, renovation and repair of public school facilities and institutions of higher learning consistent with a recognized green building rating system / All funds must be used within 2 years of being allocated

Qualified School Construction Bonds

/ $11 billion per year for 2009 and 2010 national limitation on amount of bonds designated

/ To be used for the construction, rehabilitation, or repair of a public school facility, or for the acquisition of land on which such a facility is to be constructed
