Understanding Logo Prin/ng q Logo Prin/ng on an Item a2er it exists is also known as “post prin/ng”. In this
case prin/ng on a Bag or Box.

q Post Prin/ng Allows for people to get their logo printed on bags, boxes, or other items in smaller quan//es.
q Post Prin/ng Typically allows for only 1 or 2 colors to be printed, with most manufacturers. This would be a basic Foil Hot Stamp or Ink Print, for as liKle as .10-‐.20 cents per item printed.
Understanding Logo Prin/ng q If your logo has mul/ple colors, 4 Color Process Prin/ng and Screen Prin/ng
are available for certain Packaging Items and will be displayed to order on our webpage if available.
q 4 Color Process and Screen Prin/ng allow for Images or Mul/-‐Color Logos to be printed.
q More Expensive Op/on, typically star/ng about $1.50 per printed item

q The print area is different for every type of item, depending on the way the item is made and the machine it is printed on.

Where can I get my logo printed? q When geYng your logo printed on any item, there is typically a defined “print
area” that your logo can be placed.

How to measure your logo size in the print area q The size of your Logo within the print area is the Length x Width. This is
the size your prin/ng plate will be made.

Measuring your logo
What are Prin/ng Plates?
q Prin/ng plates are either rubber for ink prints, or metal for foil hot stamp prints. q Each color requires it’s own prin/ng plate. If you have a two color logo,
you must purchase two prin/ng plates.

q Prin/ng plates are used to stamp your ink or foil print on to the bag or box.
Logo Prints in Ink or Foil Hot Stamp q Logos Can be printed in either Ink or Foil.
q MaKe Surfaces can be printed with either Ink or a Foil Hot Stamp.
q Glossy surfaces can only be printed with a Foil Hot Stamp

Logo Prints in Foil Hot Stamp q In some cases Foil Logos with two colors can printed on top of each other,
when the overlapping coverage is minimal.
Logo Prints in Ink q Ink Prints can be overlapped when the darker shade is on top such as
Yellow over White. The White is printed first and allowed to dry, then the Yellow is printed second.
Logo Prints in Ink or Foil Hot Stamp
q Two Color Logos can also use a combina/on of Ink and Foil on MaKe surfaces. The Ink must be printed first with the Foil printed on top.
Print Charges q Print charges occur every /me you order or re-‐order. It is the cost of
running the machine, labor, and foil or ink cost. q Print charges for Boxes are charged: Per Color, Per 1,000 Boxes, and Per Category or (Style of Box).
q Print charges for Bags are charged: Per Color, Per 1,000 Bags, and Per Bag Size.

Helpful Hint: Any/me that the machine has to be changed for a new color or new size of box or bag, a new print charge will occur. Also a new print charge will occur at each 1,000 piece interval.
Understanding Artwork – Ink & Foil Prints q Your artwork must be sent to us in Vector format. Vector format looks like
this image below when you use your mouse to click on it. q Vector format allows for your logo to be outlined, so that the machine
making the prin/ng plates can follow the outlines in your logo.
q Vector formats can be saved in several file types including, .ai, .pdf, .psd, & .eps
Understanding Artwork-‐Ink & Foil Prints q Unacceptable formats of your logo are: .jpeg, .jpg,.png,.gif, or ./ff,
q These unacceptable formats show the pixels in your logo, making your logo not smooth enough for the machine to cut the prin/ng plate.
Bad Pixelated Logo: (.jpeg, .jpg,.png,.gif, of ./ff)
Good Vector Logo: (.ai, .pdf, .psd, & .eps)
Understanding Artwork – Fine Lines q Artwork with Fine Lines may fill in. It is possible that the prin/ng plates
can not be cut to the fine detail of some artwork.
Certain Lines within this Crown that may fill in when printed in either ink or foil:

q Artwork with mul/ple colors or shading will need to be reduced to 1 or 2 colors in order to get an Ink Print or a Foil Hot Stamp
Redrawn Artwork for a Foil Hot Stamp: • Nice Clean Outlines • Simple two color logo • No Shading
Original Logo includes MulIple Colors in the Olive Leaf Branch: • To many colors on top of other colors and
touching in the Branch • Shading
With some manufacturers this logo can be printed using either: 4 Color Process PrinIng or Screen PrinIng
q In order to have a mul/-‐color logo printed, we have some Manufacturers now with the ability to do 4 Color Process Prin/ng or Screen Prin/ng.
Logo Screen Print Examples q Screen Prin/ng is very popular in T-‐Shirt Prin/ng and is typically used to
print fabrics. q It works much like Ink Prin/ng, however the colors are more precise when
overlapping other colors to form the image, crea/ng a much more detailed image.
q Each Color Is Printed with it’s own screen.
Logo 4 Color Process Examples q 4 Color Process Prin/ng allows you to print an image on a box or a bag.
q It works much like an ink jet or laser printer mixing the colors to form the image on your product.
q 4 Color process prin/ng allows your artwork to be submiKed in a High Resolu/on image format such as: .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .gif, or./ff.
