ANNOUNCEMENTS AND RULES

Welcome to Worldview Plus 2012 Fall weekend! If you are an alumnus of WV, please enjoy visiting with old friends, BUT also remember there are some new kids here too. Reach out to the new ones just like others reached out to you when you were new – if someone has no one to eat lunch with, invite them to join you. You might make a new friend!

Sessions The worship and teaching are the heart of WV! God has so much to reveal to us if we’ll open our hearts and minds to Him. Please listen attentively during all sessions and take notes in your notebook.

Lunch You must have a group of 3 or more to go into town or leave church property. No campers may drive to get lunch without an adult’s permission.

Distractions Please leave all electronics (iPods, cell phones, etc.) in the car or at home. We’re here to focus on God!

Displays of affection Please be respectful and modest in your physical affection. Brother-sister hugs are fine, but no romantic behavior at WV, please!

ABBA DEVOTIONALS Saturday 8:45 AM

‘Father’ is one of our most common names for God. In each of the verses below write who is calling God ‘Father.’ Also write why they are seeing Him as father at this particular time. Romans 8:15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."

Why? Mark 14:36; Luke 22:42 "Abba, Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will."

Why? Luke 11:2 He said to them, "When you pray, say: "'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.

Why? Luke 22:42 "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."

Why? John 20:17 Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"

SMALL GROUP SESSIONS

FRIDAY 7:45 PM

Everyone introduce themselves and share something about their life. What do you think about God having written His message of salvation in the heavens? Does it make sense to you? What are the strongest arguments in its favor? Try to put yourself in the place of someone from before the Bible was written, or someone who lives now but has never heard of the Bible. How do you think you might respond as you heard God’s story told through the constellations? In what ways does Satan try to counterfeit and distract from this truth today? How successful are these in keeping the focus off God?

SATURDAY 10:50 AM

Try to think your way through the constellations studied so far. Tell the story as if you were passing it on to your children who were sitting outside one evening watching the stars. How many constellations can you think of that were pictures of Jesus? What is the basic message they are giving? Which constellation group seems most special to you? Why? What is something new you have learned about God’s plan or about Jesus from this study?

SATURDAY 2:25 PM

How does this message from God compare to what He has in the Bible? Which is most clear? Which would you rather have? Why? How does the message of Leo compare to the book of Revelation? Try to trace Genesis 3:15 about the heel being wounded but head crushed through all the constellations. Why is this so important to know? What does knowing that God went to this extent to reveal His truth teach you about God? What difference should knowing this make in your life as you go home and remember these things?
