Part three: Transfer of credits

Students transferring from two- or four-year institutions may apply at any point (though it is recommended to have at least 32 credits). One of the most important considerations is how your credits will transfer. During their first two years, students at NYU Meyers complete 64 liberal arts and science prerequisite courses. They explore various topics and interests while preparing for their nursing coursework.

As such, students thinking of transferring are strongly encouraged to review which courses may transfer. The attached transfer credit evaluation template can help you to determine which courses may count toward degree requirements as well as help determine how many credits you may have left to complete. Please note that you can transfer up to 64 credits as a traditional transfer student.

If offered admission, transcripts from regionally accredited institutions are examined carefully to determine how many, if any, transfer credits will be granted. Once matriculated, transfer students must complete all liberal arts and science prerequisites before they are able to enter into their nursing coursework. Please note that there is no entrance exam for NYU Meyers students.
