1. Each application for full-time or part-time studies must be accompanied by a $65 CDN non-refundable application processing fee. This must be in the form of a cheque or money order payable to the “University of New Brunswick” or be charged to your VISA, MasterCard or American Express. University policy prohibits processing your application without the $65 processing fee.

2. High school applicants: by the March 31 deadline, please have your high school send an official transcript (including your Grade 11 final grades and a complete listing of Grade 12 courses) directly to the appropriate campus Registrar’s Office. Please note mid-term grades are not used for admission assessment purposes. A complete official transcript of your final Grade 12 grades is required to finalize your admissions file.

3. If you are attending or have attended college or university, you must arrange to have official transcripts sent directly to the appropriate campus Registrar’s Office.

4. Students who have attended other post-secondary institutions and are requesting transfer credits must supply course outlines for all courses. Typically, these course descriptions may be obtained online or through the respective Office of the Registrar at the previous institution.

5. If you are applying for Education, Kinesiology/Recreation and Sport Studies, Nursing or a Bachelor of Integrated Studies on the Fredericton campus, you must complete special forms (see program descriptions below). Your application should be accompanied by all required supporting documentation with the exception of your official transcripts, which must be sent by your school.

6. If you have attended high school in the USA or an independent secondary school following an American-based curriculum, you must request that your SAT 1 or ACT results be sent to the appropriate campus Registrar’s Office.

7. Applicants who have been required to withdraw from UNB or any other university or college because of failure to meet academic standards must provide (1) a personal letter explaining their previous poor academic performance and why they feel they will be successful if admitted and (2) a satisfactory letter of recommendation from an employer or an individual (non-family member) who can comment on the applicant’s ability to succeed in further studies. Additional evidence that the applicant is likely to be successful may also be requested. Such applicants will not be considered for admission/re-admission for at least 12 months from the time they were required to withdraw.

8. All documents submitted in support of an application for admission become the property of the University of New Brunswick and will not be returned to the applicant or provided to other institutions.

9. Applicants to the Faculty of Law should consult the Faculty of Law at 506 453-4693 or unb.ca/fredericton/law.

10. Permanent Residents whose native language is not English may submit the results of an English language proficiency test (e.g. IELTS). Permanent Residents who do not present the results of an English language test or have not satisfied the minimum requirements, may be considered for conditional admission. This requirement may be waived in cases where the applicant has studied in Canada for three or more years. In all cases, the University reserves the right to require proof of language proficiency before permission will be granted to register in academic courses.

• BACHELOR OF EDUCATION DEGREE – Fredericton Campus The Bachelor of Education program is available to those who have already satisfied the requirements for a Bachelor’s degree. Special supplementary forms, available through the Registrar’s Office or online at unb.ca/application, must be submitted together with the University application form and application fee. Early application is highly recommended. Faculty of Education Admission Advantage (FEAA) The Faculty of Education Admission Advantage (Fredericton Campus) offers exceptional high school and first-year UNB students conditional acceptance into the Bachelor of Education program. FEAA students apply to the undergraduate program of their choice and the Bachelor of Education during their final year of high school or while completing their first year of studies at UNB. High School students should complete the following steps: 1) Apply to an undergraduate program of your choice at UNB (indicate as choice one) and the FEAA (indicate as choice two) by March 31; 2) complete and return the Faculty of Education advance application package by March 31. FEAA application packages can be requested through the Registrar’s Office or found online at unb.ca/application. The application for the FEAA requires that the high school applicant present all courses necessary for admission to their first program choice with a calculated minimum UNB admission average of 80%. First-Year UNB students must complete the FEAA application package by January 31. FEAA application packages can be requested through the Registrar’s Office or found online at unb.ca/application. The competitive application process for the FEAA requires that the first-year UNB student applicant completes a minimum of 30 credit hours in their first year of study and achieves a minimum grade point average of 3.3.

• BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN KINESIOLOGY AND BACHELOR OF RECREATION AND SPORT STUDIES Mature applicants and transfer students applying from another degree program or from a different college or university and applicants for re-admission to the Kinesiology program are required to complete a special Faculty of Kinesiology supplementary form. This form is available through the Registrar’s Office or at unb.ca/application and must be sent as supporting documentation. High school students are NOT required to complete this form.

• BACHELOR OF NURSING The basic program covers 4 years of general/professional education and is offered in Fredericton and Saint John. Early application is recommended.
