Time heals all wounds - but what if we don’t have that time?On their new album, Flash Forward are tackling this drastic problem and, with „Golden Rust“, deliver their most personal work so far, which raises the important question of self-reflection at a time when digital media and uncomfortable social conditions are becoming in- creasingly more fast-paced. In eleven powerful songs, the band transports listeners with resigned and reassuring lyrics, staging them with a hymnic mix of indie-pop and harder alternative-rock in the style of international heroes like You Me At Six, Biffy Clyro or The Hunna. The fact that Flash Forward is familiar with time pressure and frequent employment already proves the history of its new record. „Golden Rust“ was recorded in parallel to a tour marathon in the company of Enter Shikari and To The Rats And Wolves. The band, once again a quartet thanks to their new guitarist Gerrit Kühne, knows the demanding everyday life of the music industry and the tributes that social pressure demands in our spiritual life. „Today we‘re overwhelmed by so many thoughts, events and stages of life,“ says singer Stefan Weigel, describing his thoughts behind the contents of „Golden Rust“. „Due to the fast pace of our society, we lack the time to deal with ourselves. We suppress our own desires, dreams and goals. Then we find an emergency solution, accept fate and just accept things. „ Flash Forwards‘s new record is Weigel‘s personal answer to this dilemma. For example, in „Time Lapse“ he reflects on the life of his soul, while intoxicating guitar towers like a rock in the surf: „And I waste my time fighting against my fright while I‘m trying to redesign the time lapse of my life“, rebelling against dark thoughts. The same song continues: „Every day is like a creeping sickness but I‘d never dare to show my weakness“ - an impressively open statement that is particularly striking in the presence of ever more superficial self-presentation and at the same time illuminates the fear of exploring one‘s own inner ruins. „Golden Rust“ is the result of a cathartic self-foundation that hurts, but is absolutely necessary. And yet the quintessence of the record lies not in its oppressive reflectiveness, but above all in the rebellion against the abysses shown thereby. Again and again, Flash Forward work with strong dynamic contrasts in their instrumental work and thus create a symbolic sonic image for their militant momentum. Itchy and Emil Bulls producer Florian Nowak understands the staging of stirring choruses and underlines the chorus of „Creeper“ as a penetratingly danceable moment in the style of Fall Out Boy from the past. „The Voice“ is again the result of a cleverly crafted Klimax, which gently turns from a minimalist beat into a brave anthem to carry on. „Give Me All Your Love,“ a duet with Deaf Havana vocalist James Veck-Gilodi, brings this dynamic interplay to perfection, whipping its time between its cautiously trembling indie moments and raging alternative chorus. The music on „Golden Rust“ thus becomes the autonomous expression of Flash Forwards‘ most insightful record to date, which leaves plenty of time for the dark sides of the self, while always expressing hope as a result. „My head‘s still full of dreams `cause I believe it doesn‘t hurt to dream“ Wei- gel sings in „It Doesn‘t Hurt To Dream“ and sums up this virtue unforgettably. „Golden Rust“ will be released via Uncle M Music on CD and digitally. Flash Forward will subsequently tour Germany and surrounding foreign countries. Time heals all wounds - but what if we don’t have that time?On their new album, Flash Forward are tackling this drastic problem and, with „Golden Rust“, deliver their most personal work so far, which raises the important question of self-reflection at a time when digital media and uncomfortable social conditions are becoming in-creasingly more fast-paced.

Flash Forwards‘s new record is Weigel‘s personal answer to this dilemma.

„Golden Rust“ will be released via Uncle M Music on CD and digitally. Flash Forward will subsequently tour Germany and surrounding foreign countries.
