    Network Impact Overview

UMPT requires changes in the managed object (MO) names

and management mode, including device managed object, equipment managed object, radio managed object, O&M GUIs on the M2000, and NBIs.

To support IP-based network evolution of GUL networks, the Abis interface can only work in IP over E1 or IP over FE

mode when the UMPT is used.

After UMPT is introduced, the license management mechanism for GSM networks uses that of UMTS networks to unify license management for different systems in a GUL network.

GSM NBI Comparison between GTMUb and UMPT

NBI Items GBTS(GTMUb) vs BTS3900 GO (GBTS UMPT)

    M2000 NBI

CM NBI For GBTS(UMPT), device and transmission are transferred from BSC file to BTS3900 file. PM NBI For GBTS(UMPT), 39 counters (device and transmission) are transferred from BSC side to BTS. FM NBI For GBTS(UMPT), 172 alarms (device and transmission) are transferred from BSC side to GBTS(UMPT) side.

CME NBI CME export For GBTS(UMPT), 25 radio parameters are added. 711 device

and transmission parameters are in line with UL. CME import

For GSM NBI, Same protocol and file structure BSC file is enough for GBTS(GTMU), and additional BTS file is required for BTS3900
