Research and Scholarly Ac0vi0es Sec0on One The Bialowieza National Forests Tsars Palace Garden Masters Opus The Tsars Hun0ng Palace and Park in Bialowieza, Poland; a Case Study of Culture, History and Dynamic Design in Europes Last Primeval ForestUniversity of Michigan – Professor Robert Grese 2005 This masters prac0cum, to study and produce a design guideline for the Tsars Palace and Park in Bialowieza, Poland, was par0ally funded ($6000) by the University of Michigans Interna0onal Ins0tutes Center for Russia and Eastern European Studies. Research comprised of gathering historical literature, plans and photos rela0ng to the design, use and cultural significance of the palace and park. This informa0on was compiled into a cohesive set of documents for my use and for the use of the Bialowieza Parks library. The final project produced an updated dynamic design for the park to promote increased use, while adhering to historic precedent and cultural integrity. According to Polish law, specifica0ons for all site materials and suppor0ng evidence showing why subs0tute materials can not be used must be produced in a legally binding wriXen format.
