Circa Survive , the progressive 5-piece rock band from Doylestown, Pennsylvania self-produced their fourth album Violent Waves at Studio

Key Points:

THE LEGENDARY TRIO LIVE AT NDR FUNKHAUS, HAMBURG, 1972

In the late 60s/early 70s when Keith Jarrett was working with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers and with the Charles Lloyd Quartet, he also began working as a leader with Charlie Haden and Paul Motian. This trio formed in1966 became Keiths first great band, his choice of players a masterstroke.

With the bassist who had learned his craft in Ornette Colemans band, and the drummer from Bill Evanss ground breaking trio, Jarrett was able to explore the full scope of modern jazz, from poetic balladry to hard swinging timeplaying to ferocious and fiery free music, the improvisation including episodes with Keith on soprano sax.

The interaction between the three musicians is uncanny throughout, reaching a peak in an emotion drenchedperformance of Charlie Hadens Song for Che. ECM set up the 1972 tour of the Jarrett Trio, including the

German radio concert from which this album is drawn. Manfred Eicher returned to the original tapes 42 yearslater, remixing the music for this edition in Oslo in July 2014, together with Jan Erik Kongshaug.

Deutsche Grammophon is produ to be releaseing HABEMUS PAPAM, a double album featuring live recordings of thmusic sung by the Sistine Chapel Choir, directed by Monsignor Massimo Palombella, before, during and after the Conclave that led to the election of Pope Francis in 2013.

These key moments in the life of the Catholic Church have never before been captured on record, making this release a unique document from both a musical and an historical perspective. Adding to its significance is the inclusion of the announcement of the Conclaves choice and of the first speech made by the newly elected Pope Francis, on 19 March 2013: eleven minutes that captivated audiences worldwide.

Among the works included on this new album are two gems of the liturgical repertoire by Palestrina: the offertory Sicut in holocaustis, most likely written to be sung as part of the Mass for the Election of the Roman Pontiff, and thmotet Tu es pastor ovium, composed for the enthronement of Pope Sixtus V (1

May 1585). The album also includes several examples of Gregorian chant, as well as works by Francesco Guerrero,J.S. Bach, Lorenzo Perosi, Luigi,Molfino and Massimo Palombella.

Monsignor Palombella is the current director of the exceptional Sistine Chapel Choir, whose members perform

the music on the album.
