An uncocked gun is a safe gun. The ULTRA-20 is carried with the

hammers uncocked, the safest position because there is no chance of

an accidental discharge by a worn safety catch or by dropping the gun.When you are ready to fire, you cock the gun with a single, smooth

movement of the quiet, reliable cocking device, which is located on the

top tang in the position usually occupied by a conventional safety.

If an opportunity passes and you do not fire the gun, simply un-cock

the hammers by pushing the cocking device all the way forward to

disengage it and allowing it to slide to the rear, into the un-cocked

safe position.

As long as the combi-cocking device is left in the forward, cocked

position, both hammers of the ULTRA-20 are re-cocked upon opening,

and the gun is ready to fire immediately when it is closed, as with any

self-cocking rifle. This feature provides a useful speed advantage, for

example, when shooting driven game.

To create what many consider the finest trigger system available in

any modern combination gun, Krieghoff has developed and patented

its Universal-Trigger-System. It is used in all of Krieghoff modernhunting guns rifles, drillings, and combination guns and provides,

as the name implies, universally desirable trigger qualities suited to all

hunting applications.

The unique design of the Krieghoff system provides crisp, clean three

to three-and-one-half pound (1000 1500g) trigger pulls, reminiscent

of the best sidelock.

The Krieghoff trigger system is also designed to accommodate a hair

or set trigger. It is standard for the front trigger of the ULTRA-20.

When you set the hair trigger it makes the trigger pull extremely easily

so that the rifle will fire with a very slight touch of the trigger. It is

meant for use only under strictly controlled circumstances precisionshooting from a bench rest or taking game from a stand or another

fixed position.

Krieghoff strongly recommends that you also order the optional

automatic hair trigger release for an extra measure of safety.

Other options available for the ULTRA-20 are a hair trigger for the rear

trigger and a single trigger.

situation. The ULTRA-20 is a prime example of how much

versatility you can expect from a modern over-and-under.

The over-and-under rifle/shotgun combination

can be equipped with any caliber of the insert

barrels Krieghoff KS to become a Bergstutzen

or Over-and-Under Rifle. The basis for the ULTRA-

20 versatility is the twin-hammer combi-cocking

system. It is the quick second barrel that gives a

double rifle its advantage over other rifles.

ULTRA-20 OVER-AND-UNDERRIFLE/SHOTGUNCOMBINATIONWITHSOLDEREDSIDERIBBARRELS

For those who prefer traditional configurations, the ULTRA-20

is available with barrels that have soldered sideribs. These barrels

have a slim contour and reduce the gun weight by approximately

10oz (300g).

The free-floating thermo-stable barrels of the ULTRA-20 prevent torquewhich builds when barrels get hot from shooting and which adversely

possible to bring the barrels together, for example, when changing

ammunition or regulating with rifled slugs.

ACLEVERCOMBINATION

Insert barrels have become quite popular in combination hunting

guns in recent years as they greatly extend the versatility of such guns.The full length, fully adjustable Krieghoff KS insert barrel is available

in a range of different calibers up to 9.3x74R suitable for roe deer

to red stag and boar. The ULTRA-20 Over-and-Under Rifle/Shotgun

Combination can easily be converted to a Bergstutzen configuration

(two different rifle calibers in an over-and-under) or to an over-and-

under rifle. The use of the Krieghoff KS insert barrel which is adjust-

able at the muzzle in all calibers, including 9.3x74R, is free of any

torque disadvantages caused through barrel heat from shooting.

Inserting and removing the factory fitted and sighted-in Krieghoff

KS insert barrel is quick and easy. Upon removal, the full use of the

shotgun barrel is available which is a significant advantage over otherconcepts with so-called Carrier Barrels.

The Krieghoff KS insert barrel which requires initial fitting can be

adjusted for point-of-impact without altering the shotgun or rifle

barrel. This is particularly advantageous in a conventionally soldered

barrel assembly.

The use of the insert barrel in larger calibers from 7x57R to 9.3x74R

requires an ULTRA-20 with steel action due to higher pressures. Once

properly fitted and sighted in, the Krieghoff KS insert barrel stays

zeroed when being removed and reinserted, provided the shotgun

barrel is always clean.
