This puts both teams in a tie for first place, with 12 wins and five losses apiece, and forced a playolff set for Wednesday night. Bobby Boland opened the 'Mets’ half of the seventh with a line drive to the Indian pitcher, Karl Bower, whose er- ror put the winning run on first base. Mike Boland came up next and drove another iong one into center, to send his brother home with the game- ending score. Phoenicia, July 30. — The Mets and the Indians went into an extra inning Monday night in their battle for the supremacy of the Onteora Little League, but the Mets pulled off the victory, 4-3, after blowing a three-run lead in the sixth. This puts both teams in a tie for first place, with 12 wins and five losses apiece, and forced a playolff set for Wednesday night.

The Indians were scoreless as they went into the sixth inning, but drew two-walks off Mike Boland and a long hit into center field hel'ped to tie the score. The Mets were unable to come back with the winning run in the bottom of the sixth, but held the Indians scoreless in the top of the seventh.

Bobby Boland opened the 'Mets’ half of the seventh with a line drive to the Indian pitcher, Karl Bower, whose error put the winning run on first base. Mike Boland came up next and drove another iong one into center, to send his brother home with the game- ending score.

The Yankees had no competition for third place and finished with a 12-5 record. The Giants set a new league record for losses, 16 straight, and have no wins to their credit.

The fourth annual Little League picnic will be held on Sunday, Aug. 9, a t the Consolidated field in Shandaken. Mrs. Rosalie Boland is chairman for the affair.
