Ullswater is a Specialist Business & Enterprise College, using its specialist status to raise standards of achievement and the quality of learning for all their students.

Ullswater enriches and extends learning by encouraging economic and business understanding, enterprise activities and opportunities for pupils to follow a wide range of work related learning pathways.

National Enterprise Week - All students at the school took part in a ‘design a brand’ challenge, coming up with a product that develops the brand image of the school. Successful ideas were presented by student to a panel of ‘dragons’. Ideas ranged from a UCC clock, mugs, teddy bear, note books, pen drive holder, sports set, box sets, paper bricks made for burning and much more.

Students from Ullswater took part in regional finals of the ‘Make Your Mark’ challenge, presenting their idea for a school reward system based upon the Olympic rings and Olympic values

The school is committed to promoting Fair Trade and Justice.

As part of Fairtrade Fortnight a group of year 8 students and the Fairtrade group held a Coffee Morning in the conference room. The profit from the was divided between Action Aid and purchasing equipment to take to Tanzania.

Ullswater Community College is designated as a strategically resourced provision for students experiencing severe and or profound multiple learning difficulties. A great feature of the school is the way students of all abilities support each other.
