Professional Skills for Government – recognised need

to improve the levels of professional capacity and skills

across the UK Civil Service

The main elements of the UK Professional Skills for Government initiative are:

• Leadership requirements for everyone approaching and in Senior Civil Service

• Core Skills for everyone approaching and in Senior Civil Service

• Job-related Professional Expertise including new requirements for Operational Delivery Policy Delivery Professions

• General requirement for broader experience
