CLAIMANT vs. CLAIMS SPECIALIST
• Some UInteract screens and actions which a claimant can see or access differ from
those of a Claims Specialist
• This presentation includes information on those screens and actions which a
claimant can see and access that a Claims Specialist cannot

SET UP UINTERACT ACCOUNT
A claimant can set up an online account by going to uinteract.labor.mo.gov from
any computer or mobile device
Computer Smart phone
On the Login screen, click on:
• Don’t have an account? Create one
• I want to file an unemployment claim
On the New User Sign-Up screen:
• Provide personal information in all fields with an asterisk
• Click on I’m not a robot
• Follow the instructions on the Captcha screen to select and verify the
appropriate images
Instead of selecting
images, the claimant
can click on the
headphone and type a
phrase that Captcha
will play
The information entered must match that contained in DES
records. For example, if DES records reflect “James,” the claimant
will receive an error message if he enters “Jim”
On the Create User ID and Password screen:
• Type desired User ID and Password
• Choose Security Questions and Answers
• Click on Submit
On the Successful Registration Confirmation screen:
• Click on Home to return to the Login screen

• Below is a claimant Home screen displaying menu options
• The tabs and menu list are interchangeable
• Like a Claims Specialist, the claimant will have Help, Finish Later, Cancel,
Back and Next buttons as well as the ? Symbol
• If the claimant makes an error, a description of the error will appear in red
at the top of the screen and the error will be highlighted in red

FILE INITIAL CLAIM
• A claimant’s claim filing process is the same as that of a Claims Specialist and
starts by clicking on Unemployment Claim ► File Unemployment Claim
• Only 3 of the claimant’s screens differ from those of a Claims Specialist:
• The Employment History and Employment Details screens do not display
Base Period employer and wage information
• The Employment Summary screen does not ask if the claimant wants to
backdate the claim
• The claimant will then complete the following screens in the order listed:
• Claim Filing Notification
• EEO Information
• Personal Information
• Contact Details
• Verify Contact Details
• Identity Verification
• Security Confirmation
• File Claim
• Employment History (see slide #16)
• Job Title Summary
• Geographical Preference for Work
• Employment Details (see slide #16)
• Employment Summary (see slide #17)
• Able and Available Details
• Able and available questionnaire(s), if
applicable
• Job separation questionnaire, if
applicable
• Tax Withholding and Payment Option
• Unemployment Claim Information
• Important Weekly Request for
Payment Filing Instructions
• Estimated Monetary Determination
• Claim Confirmation
• List of Available Jobs
• The claimant is not provided with Base Period employer and wage
information on the screens shown below:
• The claimant is not given the option of requesting a backdate:
ENTER WORK SEARCH ACTIVITY DETAILS
A claimant has the option of entering Work Search Activity details before the
week ends:
• Click on Weekly Request
for Payment ► Enter
Work Search Details
• Enter the details of the
Work Search Activity
• Click on Save
CLAIM INQUIRY
The claimant can review his/her
Claim Summary by clicking on
Inquiry ► Benefits ► Claimant/
Claim Inquiry
CHANGE PERSONAL INFO, PAYMENTMETHOD & TAX WITHHOLDING
A claimant can change:
• Address and personal information by clicking on Update Address
• Payment options and tax withholding by going to Benefit Maintenance ►
Update Claimant Profile ► Payment Options
The claimant can view and print
correspondence by clicking on
Correspondences ► Claimant
Correspondences ► Benefits then
clicking on the correspondence

VIEW & PRINT CORRESPONDENCE
• Division correspondence
requesting a response includes a
Quick Access code
• The Quick Access code may be
printed at the top or in the body
of the correspondence
• There are two ways the claimant
can respond online to the
correspondence
RESPOND TO DIVISION CORRESPONDENCE
• On the Login screen, click on
Quick Access
OR
• Click on Correspondences ►
Respond to Correspondence
• Enter the Quick Access code
FILE APPEAL
To file an appeal online, the claimant
can:
• Click on File Appeal ► File
Appeal
• Select the determination to be
appealed
• Click on Next and follow the
prompts to submit the appeal
The claimant can check the status
of any overpayment(s) by clicking
on Overpayments ► Overpayment
Inquiry
OVERPAYMENT INQUIRY & RESPONSE
The claimant can respond to an
overpayment questionnaire by
clicking on Overpayments ► Enter
Response to Questionnaire
The claimant can make a payment
by clicking on Make Payment ►
Make Online Payment
MAKE ONLINE PAYMENT
The claimant can set up a payment
plan by clicking on Payment Plan ►
Setup Payment Plan
SET UP PAYMENT PLAN
GENERATE HISTORY OF REPAYMENT(S)
To generate a history of restitution
repayment(s), the claimant should:
• Click on Inquiry ► Benefits ►
Generate Repayment History Letter
• Select the year(s)
• Select summary by tax year or a
history of all repayments
• Click on Display Repayment History
Letter
VIEW & PRINT FORM 1099G
To view and print a Form 1099G, the
claimant can:
• Click on View & Print 1099 ►View
& Print 1099
• Click on the hyperlink for the tax
year(s) needed
PARTICIPATE IN USER SURVEY
The Claimant can submit a
UInteract user survey by clicking
on User Feedback Survey
