UIGM Palembang Does Study Tour to PTIIK-UB

UIGM Palembang visits PTIIK-UB

The leader representatives and 90 students of Faculty of Computer Science Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (Fasilkom UIGM) Palembang visited Technology Information and Computer Science Program Universitas Brawijaya (PTIIK-UB) on Friday (16/8). The Dean of Fasilkom UIGM, Rendra Gustriansyah, ST, M.CP., in his speech said that this visit was done to do comparative study. "So the purpose of our visit to UB is to get the knowledge from PTIIK-UB about it’s information system, informatic, network, computer facilities and library," explained Rendra.

The visit of UIGM Palembang was welcomed by the Vice Director III of Student Affairs PTIIK-UB, Edy Santoso, S.Si, M.Kom. To give the images of global information, they got a brief description about PTIIK from Edy Santoso. The description included the history of PTIIK, visions and missions the structure of organization, the increase of student number, the number of lecturers, and cooperation with for the certification for the graduates and introduction to the BEM of PTIIK.

During the question-answer session, the representatives of UIGM Palembang gave a good response. Various questions about PTIIK were asked such as how to have a cooperation with famous IT companies such as, Cisco, IBM and Nokia. In addition, they also asked the products of PTIIK students and student admission in PTIIK-UB.

To add undestanding about PTIIK-UB, they were asked to go to UB Main Library, , laboratories, reading rooms, classrooms, unit and section, canteen, and rooms for student organizations in PTIIK-UB.

The visist is expected to give advantages to both sides, whether PTIIK-UB and Fasilkom UIGM Palembang.
