A number of protocols emanated from Tissue Culture studies using different morphogenetic pathways in in vitro regeneration and multiplication of several medicinal and economic plants belonging to different categories have been developed. Academic Background:Dr. M Anis received his PhD in Botany from the University of Lucknow in 1979 and did Postdoctoral research at the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). In Aug 1984, he was appointed as Lecturer in the Department of Botany, became Reader in 1991 and appointed Professor in 1999. As an Overseas Associate of DBT, he received his Postdoc training in Plant Tissue Culture and Genetic Transformation at the University of Georgia, USA (1994) and FrankFurt University, Germany (1998).

Research Interest:My current research interests centre in the field of Morphogenesis and Tissue Culture particularly the aspect of in vitro regeneration and micropropagation of important endangered medicinal and other economic plants. I continue to collaborate on projects aimed at application of in vitro techniques to plant improvement, and contribute to postgraduate teaching in Cytogenetics and Plant Biotechnology. A number of protocols emanated from Tissue Culture studies using different morphogenetic pathways in in vitro regeneration and multiplication of several medicinal and economic plants belonging to different categories have been developed.
