PROGRAM LOCATION EXCURSIONS HOUSING Our six-week summer B program offers courses in Italian language, Italian Cinema and Culture, and Roman History. In existence since 1995, this classic UF study abroad experience is open to all! Rome, Italy is a vibrant European capitol without a big city feel. It is known for its glorious Roman ruins, countless churches, tantalizing gastronomic delights, and authentically Roman residents. Located near the Tyrrhenian coast in central Italy, Rome is well-connected to other parts of Italy and Europe via train and plane. Excursions include trips to Tivoli, Hadrian’s Villa, and Pompei, as well as a long weekend trip to Florence and Chianti. Cultural field trips to musems and historical sites are built into the curriculum. Additionally, there is an optional weekend trip to the enchanting island of Ischia. You will live in apartments in the historic Trastevere neighborhood. Its charming, narrow streets are truly irresistible, and are the heart of Roman summer evenings. You will be able to take part in the many events organized for the “Noantri” festival week, an annual celebration of the beauty and history of Trastevere. There will typically be 4 students per apartment (you can expect to share a room with one other person). All apartments have a phone, internet connection, wifi, television, and washing machine. APPLICATION INFORMATION

WHAT’S INCLUDED

A $350 nonrefundable deposit toward the total cost of the program is due at the time of application. The remaining fees are due no later than 45 days prior to departure. If you receive financial aid, you can defer payment until it disburses. Deferment decisions will be based on the amount of aid to be received.

Tuition for 8 credits, lodging for the duration of the program, airport transfers (day of arrival), approximately 5 group dinners, entry fees and guided visits to all museums included in the program, guided visits to other historical sites, any fees for daily excursions, long weekend field trip transportation and lodging, international health insurance, and emergency

ELIGIBILITY | REQUIREMENTS— Open to all students— 2.5 GPA or higher, students in good standing— One letter of recommendation — Essay: “What I will contribute intellectually, culturally and/or socially to the Rome program”— Have completed the first semester of freshman year

Most financial aid that you would receive on campus during the summer can be applied toward the cost of this study abroad program.
