STATE COLLEGE DRUBS IDAHO IN SEASON'S FOOTBALL CLASSIC Washington State 14; Idaho 7. For the thirteenth time In the quarter of a century of football riv- alry between the State College of Washington and the University of Ida- bo, the State College eleven has proved her gridiron supremacy, and for the thirteenth lime the famous "Idaho spirit" has been forced to give way to better coaching, Letter team work and at least M stubborn a fighting spirit. Idaho fought gamely, as she always does, but the hammering, better* ing tactics of the Welch machine were not to bo overcome, and the Crimson and Gray again waved triumphant over an Idaho eleven. In Friday's name Idaho presented the best coached eleven since the days of Coach ••Pink" Griffith, and the victory of the Cougar eleven was a signal one. The best team won, but the loser gave all she had and Is deserving of credit for her stubborn resistance. Flushed with the prospect of victory after her touchdown in the first quarter on a blocked pass, Idaho played sensational ball at times dur- ing the second and third quarters, v.ith Irving and A. Itiashears play- ing the leading roles. Her stubborn resistance in the filial period, with W. 8. C. right under her goal poets, brought forth wild applause from the Idaho stands. For the State College there wore no individual stars, the team play, ing as a unit throughout the contest. Both the Cougar touchdowns were the result of straight, hard football, and both were well deserved! Game in Detail FIRST QUARTER SECOND QUARTER W. S. S. Scores Touchdown W. S. Moran heaved a long for-1 ward pass to Roy Hanley, which net- ted 25 yards and first down, al- though Irving downed Hanley the second he took the pall. It was a beautiful pass. Moran started around right end and looked good for \u25a0 touchdown when he slipped and fell, after gain- ing five yards. Gillis hit left tackle for four and one-half yards and the ball was 16 yards from the Idaho j goal. On the first play of the second quarter Gillis made one yard through center. Brown went around left end for three yards, Irving gained two at left tackle, and A. Brashears made it first down with a pretty 11-yard run around left end. W. S. C. STATE COLLEGE DRUBS IDAHOIN SEASON'S FOOTBALL CLASSIC

Washington State 14; Idaho 7.

For the thirteenth time In the quarter of a century of football riv-alry between the State College of Washington and the University of Ida-bo, the State College eleven has proved her gridiron supremacy, and forthe thirteenth lime the famous "Idaho spirit" has been forced to giveway to better coaching, Letter team work and at least M stubborn afighting spirit.

Idaho fought gamely, as she always does, but the hammering, better*ing tactics of the Welch machine were not to bo overcome, and theCrimson and Gray again waved triumphant over an Idaho eleven.

In Friday's name Idaho presented the best coached eleven since thedays of Coach ••Pink" Griffith, and the victory of the Cougar eleven wasa signal one. The best team won, but the loser gave all she had andIs deserving of credit for her stubborn resistance.

Flushed with the prospect of victory after her touchdown in the firstquarter on a blocked pass, Idaho played sensational ball at times dur-ing the second and third quarters, v.ith Irving and A. Itiashears play-ing the leading roles. Her stubborn resistance in the filial period, withW. 8. C. right under her goal poets, brought forth wild applause fromthe Idaho stands.

For the State College there wore no individual stars, the team play, ing as a unit throughout the contest. Both the Cougar touchdownswere the result of straight, hard football, and both were well deserved!
