They watch over their children Who fight for their lives far below In the turmoil of the earth. These mothers attend all battles, Cheering on the soldiers With explosive enthusiasm. They are unprejudiced, And smother everyone In their fatal embraces. They lay down a carpet That encompasses all, Covering the splinters Of annihilated hopes and dreams And masking the stench Of hopelessness and despair. These mothers create a comfortable home For their children to live in infinitely. They care for their children dearly, And continuously send them Breathtaking presents. They call out into the darkness, Like a beacon of light, “Accept us with open arms, So that we can take the pain away. Accept us with open arms, So that we can save you all.” Unfortunately for them, Their love is unrequited.
